But where first?
Marketplace, Food Stall
Marius heard something rustle nearby and turned his gaze towards it. There he saw what appeared to be some village children spying on him. Upon seeing him look in their direction, the kids hurriedly scampered off. Putting some thought over what just happened, he had realized he made a jab about vampires and messy eating while inspecting a dead body.
"Hmphf...gonna need to watch what my mouth says. If I'm not careful, the peasants will be getting funny ideas about me."
Looking back down at the body he once more noticed the rice barrel. That plus the eating joke helped seal the deal for him, "Right...marketplace. Probably my best means of getting information."
Offering a quick prayer to the dead body he had finished inspecting, Marius turned on his heel and started to make his way to the center of the village. It may be the turn of the century and a new pantheon was upon the world, but the work of a Rune Blade never changes. The realm of the Gods barely concerned the order, for no matter who was in charge...the blasphemy of malformation and magic had to be extinguished from the Empire and the face of Aesyr.
Many shared the same sentiment, unfortunately a lot of the public would consider Rune Blades among the "malformed" and be of magical blasphemy. These villagers certainly seem to not be much different in that regards. People would move to the other side of the road from him, giving him stink eyes long ways, conversations would stop or topics would be changed in hushed tones as he passed. He was use to that by now, not much choice he had in that regards. But, so long as nobody tries to start trouble, he'll be fine.
He just had to get to the marketplace and that would be the end of that. He'll talk to a merchant, get some leads, and continue on with his hunt of this vampire and/or blood mage. The last thing he needed was to anger the village by killing some youths who figure they can be heroes by taking on the dark, shadowy stranger to this village.
Is Marius interrupted on the way?

Conflicts of Divine Interest
When Pantheons Misbehave
The world of Aesyr is a world of divinity and conflict. Three sides with their own believes collide in battles of war and political intrigue. But one thing is consistent...the ever evolving pantheon. The gods switch out their own rulers in a cosmic lottery. This year, it just so happens to have all the gods and goddesses of lust and conquest to be victorious.
