Since your youth you had always wanted to join the military since your father joined the space forces to explore and possibly set up colonies. Thankfully technology had improved enough that your dad was able to get between, say Mars and Earth with little trouble. However, these systems were still new and always changing, so anything was possible. However, when you turned 18, instead of going into the military you went to college and got an engineering degree instead. Much to your mother’s delight, she encouraged you to work somewhere that interested you.

And so, you did, you got a job helping set up space colonies on mars, except for the fact it was for common people instead of the military. It took some time but overall you managed to get everything set up and even get a few people to move them there to start the process of colonization. After this happens you head home to receive your payment for a job well done. Once you get home you find what at first seems to be chaos and madness. Also once you step off the ship it almost immediately starts to leave to go somewhere.

The amount of military is absurd, and even almost irrational based upon both the response that you saw go by and the amount of people running. Your mother thankfully lives about 5 minutes away from the commotion that appears to be happening. You start to walk that way, but you also start to avoid the huge crowd that seem to be going down the main street.
