She is both surprised and Panicked!

As soon as you knock on the door you hear what sounds like someone tripping over everything in their path. It takes a moment but your mom does eventually reach the door, and the moment she sees you, she is shocked and starts to hug you. You also hear your dad starting to trundle around the house, although this does not surprise. For once he was not asleep, building something, or rushing off to a military base that is near by your house. After you finally get your mother to let go of you, you enter the house to find some food.

Your dad grunts at you which you return in kind. The fact that the ship ran out of food two days before you arrived back to earth does not seem quenaidental. Thankfully your mother tends to have a good supply of snacks in the house after the incident that will not be named. As you enter the kitchen you hear the heavy foot falls of your dad.

As you find a strip of left over dear jerky from a hunting trip, your dad clamps onto your shoulder. He says "Son, we need to go", which at first confuses you, then horrifies you. You also, on instinct, follow along and to see what's going on. As you arrive you find both chaos and silence, except for the base alarm.
