Make it home, but it is a crime scene

As you and Officer Longway walk to your home, a few police cars fly past you with their sirens blaring. Neither of you pay much mind, figuring that they were going to a domestic dispute. Not a moment later, Benjamin's radio goes off and your heart drops. A drive-by shooting has happened and your house is the place that has been hit.

You break out into a sprint, Officer Longway not far behind you. You have to make it to your house, have to see that your father is alright. The sirens grow louder and louder, the voices coming into focus. You turn the corner, seeing police cars and ambulances surround your house. The house itself is riddled with bullet holes.

Then it happens. The front door opens and you scream, collapsing to the ground. You hadn't noticed the medical examiner's vehicle, but you watch as they bring out a body under the white sheet. A hand sticks out, your father's hand.
