Magic Types
All mages in the land of Yldia are trained in various disciplines. They include the following:
Fundamental Magic:
As the name suggests, this is the most basic type of magic, and the first learned by spellcasters. Fundamental Magic includes basic spells such as firing bolts of mana, detecting magical beings/devices, and summoning familiars.
Physical Adept:
For those of a strong body and mind, they can channel magic throughout their body. This allows them to strike with **** and to focus in the heat of combat. Most physical adepts fight unarmed, but some have learned to channel their abilities through weapons, with devastating results.
Displacement Magic:
If a caster is as fast as they are smart, they may choose to learn Displacement Magic. Used by trickers, assassins, and spies, Displacement Magic manipulates physics to allow for unprecedented movement, surprise attacks and quick escapes from danger.
Life Magic:
Those who remain fertile are able to utilize Life Magic. Life Magic often consists of healing abilities, although it also allows casters to steal life from others, improve the sexual performance of partners, and even revive the dead.
Illusion Magic:
With a silver tongue and a sharp mind, one can use magic to shape the mind of others. Illusion Magic is used to make others see things that may not be there, or to alter the mind and put it into a state of sleep, or intoxication. Illusionists are often shunned due to their mind-bending powers, which can result in madness for both the caster and their victims.
Elemental Magic:
Considered the most powerful of magic disciplines, Elemental Magic requires tremendous magical talent but allows the user to command the elements. Such magic has often turned the tide of battle, from blazing fires to making the very earth rise and fight on the caster's side as a golem.
