Lunchtime

Allison proposes that you all go to lunch at one of her favorite local cafes. You're quick to agree, though you aren't especially hungry (just how many donuts did you eat earlier?). Rather, you're looking forward to a nice, relaxing chat after all of the crazy excitement this morning.

The waitress recognizes Allison and Gwen - apparently they've come here together several times before. You, of course, are introduced as a "friend from out of town". The waitress - Shelly, she introduces herself as - is a very friendly one. Unfortunately, that means she's eager to know where you're from, how you and Allison know each other, whether you've visited the local attractions... honestly, she'd probably squeeze your whole life story out of you if you actually stopped to talk to her. Gwen rescues you by explaining how dreadfully shy around strangers you apparently are.

As you sit down, you accidentally make eye contact with a man sitting at a table in the corner. Was he staring at you? As he catches your gaze, he raises one eyebrow suggestively. You blush and look down at the table. Allison follows your gaze, but as soon as she sees the man in the corner she snaps her head back, scowling. "God, Sarah, don't encourage him!" she whispers angrily.

"What? I didn't do anything!" you answer defensively, adding "Do you know that guy?"

This time, Gwen answers, "Yeah, that creep is there all the time. I don't think he eats anything, he just ogles every girl who comes in the door. I seriously doubt he's your mystery caller or anything, though. See, some guys are such losers that the most action they get is perving on total strangers." She added that last sentence in a voice entirely too loud for normal conversation. You glance as casually as you can towards the man in the corner. He's now trying to hide his face with a newspaper. Which he's holding upside-down. You all giggle madly as he gets up, flustered, and makes a hasty retreat. "Seriously, though," Gwen adds as you calm down, "when you look like this, you're gonna get leered at. You'll get used to it."

Allison excuses herself to the restroom, so when the waitress comes back, you go ahead and order for her. You've been here with her before, after all, so you just order the same for her and yourself. Shelly looks surprised at the supposedly shy out-of-towner ordering with the confidence of a regular, but she's apparently learned her lesson and doesn't say anything.

The food comes back before Allison does - even now, you can't wrap your head around the amount of time it takes her to go to the bathroom. To your dismay, you discover that your jaw is significantly smaller in this body. There's absolutely no way this sandwich is going to fit in your tiny mouth properly. You take it apart and start eating it one piece at a time. Oh well, you think, that's just another thing you'll have to get used to.

...Wait, get used to?! This was all going to be over tomorrow. You weren't going to be getting used to anything. "Gwen, just a second ago, about that creepy guy, you said I'd 'get used to it'. You do realize I'll be back to normal tomorrow, right?"

Gwen looks at you for a moment with a serious expression, then takes a long drink of water, before answering. "Suppose we find the guy who did this to you. I figure, we could probably get him to change things. I mean, we could make him undo the curse, or... Look, what I'm trying to say is..." Gwen grabs hold of your wrist and leans across the table. She's really serious about this. "Sarah, after everything that's happened, after being so happy with Allison... and with me... and knowing that you would lose all of that... do you really want it to end? Do you actually want to go back to being John?"
