Lucca walked out into the small terrace floating in eternity.

Gaspar: Hello, Lucca.

Lucca: Hello.

Gaspar: I suppose you want me to get right to the point.

Lucca: If you would, please.

Gaspar: Very well. Lucca, i'm going to put this to you bluntly: Your friends are all going to die, Guardia Kingdom will fall and a dozen children will be burned alive, along with yourself, and all of El Nido will be enslaved within twenty years from your present. And it's all your fault.

Lucca: Mine?! How?!

Gaspar: Because you will help build a computer that will make it all happen. This computer will send an agent of itself to take Guardia. Needless to say, Crono and Marle will fight. They will fail, and die. When you learn about this, your computer, FATE, will send an agent to attain your assistance again. When you refuse, they will burn your house, which will at that time be home to a dozen or so orphans, to the ground, killing all but one. Your dearest orphan will survive, but the others will suffer immensely.

Lucca: I see. So, if that's true then the only thing I can do is to die now, before i'm **** to make this thing.

Gaspar: Don't be hasty. I said I had a question for you, and I am getting to it. This computer, this FATE, will have another purpose. To keep six dragon gods, who will try to wipe out humanity, under control. Without FATE, these dragons will raze every city on the planet, and humans will become extinct. The reptiles will reclaim our world. Now, this is where it becomes interesting. The questions I asked your friends were moot, but your's is not. You can choose to create FATE or not. I will allow you this chance. If you won't, I will make sure you are never approached to do so. But humanity will be doomed. I cannot stop that. If you do create FATE, all you hold dear, save one child, will burn. What will you do?
