Locker Monster

"He wrote what on the board?" Xander asked as they walked down the hall.

"Don't walk away from me...and then a bad word," Buffy said as she walked beside him. "And its not just that, there is the issue with the disappearing gun."

"I don't know. Domestic dispute and chalkboard Tourette's don't really sound Hellmouth to me," Xander said as he opened his locker and was instantly grabbed by a hand from inside.

"Eh!" Xander screamed as he was slammed into the locker. Buffy grabbed him, but even with her Slayer strength it took a few attempts to pull him free.

She slammed the locker shut. The students around looked at them for a few seconds, but being used to Sunnydale they didn't pay attention for long.

"We should open it again," Buffy said when Xander didn't do anything. She noticed he was rubbing the top of his thigh.

"Yeah, just give me a second."

It took Buffy a moment to realize it wasn't his thigh he was rubbing. She blushed before opening the locker, hoping for a monster, but finding nothing.

".,.what I'm proposing is a social engagement, a date, if you will," Giles practiced. "I'm an idiot."

"I never realized how much you were into that chair," Buffy said as she and Giles watched him. "Though if you are asking it out on a date you might want to leave off the idiot part. People don't like that."

"Actually, I could see myself giving it a go," Xander said. "You can't know until you give something a try."

Buffy looked at him, hoping her expression was weird, but hopefully hiding how she was intrigued. 'Angel is never adventurous,' she thought.

"What happened to you, Xander?" Giles asked as he noticed the ripped clothing.

"Locker monster."

Miss Calendar typed on the computer as she found the old newspaper clippings. "Looks you were right about it being a Poltergeist, Rupert. ****-suicide in..."

"1955," Buffy said as she remembered the yearbook that fell off the shelf.

They found the yearbook and the information on the relationship between the teacher and student.

"So, what do we do?" Willow asked.

"Well resolving the spirit's dilema is the most tried and true method for helping someone pass on."

"Which is kind of impossible here," Xander added. "Given that whoever reenacts it would end up dead."

"Quite," Giles murmured as he looked to Miss Calendar. "A seance?"

"Its too late for that," she replied. "It is far too hostile at this point."

"An exorcism?" Willow suggested. She got a few strange books, "I've been doing some reading."

"It's possible," Miss Calendar agreed, "but a bit of an **** situation. The spirit will almost certainly respond in an aggressive fashion. I'm not powerful enough to contain a ritual like that on my own."

"I concur, we'd need more magical energy to pull it off."

"I've got an idea," Xander said.

"Hey, Amy," Xander began as they approached her.

"Hey, Buffy, Willow, Xander," she greeted back as they approached her locker. "From the looks on your faces something is wrong."

"Well..." Willow began nervously. "Xander has a silly idea. A crazy idea. Kind of weird to bring it back up."

"You're using practicing magic, aren't you," Xander said directly.

"What? Why do you say that?"

"Because if I had experienced something like that, I'd probably want to dive back in as well," Xander answered. "I don't think its wrong, taking risks is something we should do."

"Okay, yes, I've been practicing," she said as she started to look Xander over. She really appreciated how daring he had been.

Buffy saw the ways her eyes were going and pulled Xander back a step. "We've got a magical problem and need some help."

"Well..." she said as she looked at Xander. "Sure, I'll do what I can. My Mom transferred her energies over this body, though I still don't have a lot of experience."

"Don't worry, we've got the experience angle cover. Let's get back to Giles and Miss Calendar," Xander said.

How does the episode end?

Choices changed for clarity

A) Xander ends up possessed by James and has some harsh words for Buffy, but her Slayer reflexes save her

B) The group supports the magic users leading to them performing a successful exorcism

C) Miss Newman ends up in Xander and James in Buffy, but Buffy can't bring herself to shoot him

As a note on what we're doing on I Only Have Eyes for You - I've decided to randomize the order of episodes on when dangers will appear. Some events, due to plot reasons, will have to happen at the same time, other elements though will happen wildly out of order.
