Chapter 9 by Yabusa Yabusa

Did you leave it in the bathroom at the putt-putt place like an absolute fool?

Like an absolute fool

Your petrified expression surprised your friend, who looked at you, utterly confused. "So... no weird thing? What are you looking for? You're making it seem like you lost a winning lottery ticket, John."

You tore your whole backpack open, dumping its entire contents out on the ground. Everything fell out for Felicia to see, and you didn't really care. School notes, candy bars, phone charging cables... and a full outfit of women's clothes that looked remarkably similar to your current attire, shoes included. While you rummaged through the pile of loose change and crumpled papers on the ground, Archer picked up the bra, widening grin. "How is it that this isn't your surprise, are these yours? You've got good taste, John, but honestly, being a little generous on the cup size there."

On one hand, this was precisely why you called Archer over rather than anyone else. The fact that a full women's outfit tumbled to the floor from your bag would have had some of other other friends concerned, disgusted, possibly angry. Maybe they wouldn't even be your friends anymore, if they got the wrong impression you were inviting them over to show them you're a crossdresser or something. Were you in that position opposite someone else, you wouldn't care how they dressed, but not all your friends are so open-minded. The worst that was going to come out of this was that Felicia was going to give you fashion tips, most likely.

In a controlled environment, that would be helpful. But right now... "Just help me look! It's a coin, an old coin. It's got Latin on it, and it--"

You stopped speaking. Midway through that sentence, your voice changed completely, adjusting in pitch and tone the moment you said 'it'. What caused you to really stop moving was it felt like you were falling for a brief moment, suddenly jerked down towards the ground by a couple of inches. Your limbs had instantly shortened, your body contracted, and your hair spilled forward into your face. It was so jarring it caused you to freeze in place.

It also caused Felicia to jump back in surprise. "Whoa now, what the... John? What the hell just happened, are you alright? Do I need to call an ambulance?"

You paused a little longer, before you collapsed a little more, resting your head against the floor in defeat. "...no. No ambulance."

Once the shock subsided, you sat up to your knees--almost toppling yourself over, as the movements and weight behind your movement as well as your unruly chest had nearly propelled you further than you intended. After a moment of regaining your balance, you looked up at Archer, seeing her usual grin.

"Oooooookay, today got real interesting! I have a hundred questions."

You sighed, realizing what must have happened. "That coin I mentioned? It's magic. It lets me improve a talent when I flip it, but depending on which side it lands, I change bodies until the next time I'm allowed to flip. Or... if someone else flips it. That has to be what happened, someone found the coin and flipped it!"

"...I have ninety-six questions."

You stood up, marching toward the door in your oversized clothes like a fool. "I'll tell you on the way to the putt-putt place."

Archer burst into a fit of laughter, but she did have the wherewithal to stop you at the door. "Okay, well, two things. First, the fact that you lost a priceless magic coin at Putt-topia is, I dunno, the wildest thing to me and I love that. But also..." Archer looks down at your baggy clothes which weren't going to work at all. "You can't go out like that. Chances are you fall down the stairs, and then I have to take you to the emergency room, and I don't have a very good track record there you know. People put my name on the 'cause of injury' line when they're filling out those clipboards pretty often."

You paused, frustrated. "Argh, well what do I do? In one hour, I could end up randomly switching again! If I put on the other clothes I might just ruin them, plus if I'm in public and it happens..."

Archer tapped her chin. "It's probably a half hour drive with traffic how it is if we leave now. That would give you a half hour to search before you pop back to John-mode again. Maybe they just put it in the lost-and-found and you just have to go ask them about it."

"Or, maybe a kid took it home with them," you said, a hand holding onto your forehead to stop the headache that was starting to build.

Archer guided you back away from the door, toward your closet. "Well regardless, your whole lower-half situation needs fixing. Just grab some of your gym shorts and sandals, and roll your sleeves up a bit or something, you can pop back and forth all you want then."

"I don't want to pop back and forth right now..!" you grumbled. Felicia did have a point though, and you fished through your clothes for the gym shorts in your school's colors to go with the big hoodie. You slipped out of the pants then and there, not caring that Archer could see your enhanced ass and hips slightly straining your boxer shorts, before you slipped on the gym shorts. Your sandals had a velcro adjustable strap, which would come in handy later, although they were definitely still a bit on the large side and stuck a little too far past the heel.

You turned toward Archer, who was wiggling the bra at you with a big smile. You shook your head, and she tossed it on the couch. "You're gonna regret that later, but alright, your choice, John. I'll drive, by the way, the last thing we want is for you to transform into longer legs and then you shove on the accelerator or something. Hey also, what should I call you when we're out and about?"

"Jane would be fine," you quickly said as you headed out the door.

To the putt-putt place!
