Who are you?
Liana Baylor, College Studant (Anthro TF, Unusual Bodies, Enthusiastic Bisexuality, Body Praise/Worship, Public Masturbation, Light Exhibitionism)
AN: Just wanted to give a couple of points of clarification before jumping into the body of the text, so you can know if this thread is right for you before going forward. One, I can't promise consistency, because life and junk. So please be patient if you like this thread! Two, a clarification on what each of the tagged fetishes are will be in the comment section so you can know if this story is for you. Three, this is my first foray into writing anything somewhat seriously in like... half a year, so while I appreciate criticism and feedback, do try to keep it gentle (I.E, don't call me an idiot over a typo, or something.) Finally, I hope you enjoy this somewhat odd thread :3
It was slightly too warm for a hoodie, but Liana didn't let that stop her.
"A little discomfort is better than getting stared at." She reminded herself as she shuffled into class.
Liana bit her lip as she took her usual seat in the second to last row in the classroom, right by the window. She felt like a cliche, but between the ease of this class and her anxiety, it was easier to feel comfortable here. Setting her bag on top of the desk, she slowly poured the contents out. A laptop in front of her to take notes, a notebook and some colored pens to doodle with, a small bottle of water, and more piled around her in a small circle.
As she watched the rest of her classmates shuffle in, planting themselves into their seats and chattering away, Liana suppressed the old pang of longing. Liana was rather optimistic about people, all things told, but her anxiety was a hurdle she hadn't the courage to deal with. There was simply something about being seen that she couldn't stand. As she noted the professor's entrance, a larger man with a bushy beard and serious expression, her mind drifted towards the dark undertow that claimed her self-image. She wasn't particularly ugly, the worst that could be said is that her limbs were a little too thin and her belly wasn't a monument to thousands of hours in the gym. Perhaps her face was a little longer than others, as well. Her black hair was a perfectly reasonable shoulder length, and everything.
"What did Kelli say? That my chest and butt was 'modest and fun'?" She sighed, "Yeah right, more like barely there."
She instinctively pulled up her hood just as her professor's eyes scanned the crowd, the terror at being seen getting the best of her. Her face flushed with warmth and embarrassment at the slight regard, and the glimmer of concern, in his eye. It passed sooner than it started, moving to drone on about material that she had read ahead on weeks ago on a particularly lonely weekend. She chuckled with bitterness as her attention wavered back to her "art".
"They're barely doodles, to be honest," Liana noted with a frown, "But it's something to do."
She was hardly a professional artist, the security of a business degree was well worth the sheer dullness of the classes, but she was hardly incompetent. Rough sketches of a cat, a fountain, a couple of birds, and a hand holding a drink dotted the page. Glancing at the clock, Liana knew she had two hours to do basically whatever she wanted. Liana checked the professor's gaze, firmly on the blackboard for the moment, and looked out the window for a random topic. There wasn't much of note: the fountain she had sketched earlier, a couple leaning on each other on the bench next to it- sadly too backlit by the setting sun to make a good topic, the lively trees that hadn't realized it was autumn yet, a squirrel, and a crow that was hopping around. Her gaze held on the crow, finding it oddly cute for a sky rat, and decided why not?
When she was committing it to memory, she felt vaguely uneasy as it tilted its head her way. She felt pulled apart and studied by... something, not the crow itself but... something unfamiliar. Something cold, frustrated, ****, and oddly... hopeful? Her mouth dried, and the entire lecture hall went quiet- or perhaps it just faded from her consciousness? She smelt something truly awful, her mind racing for a parallel- settling on the closest analog being burning electronics mixed with charcoal and something alien. It made her eyes water with its sheer pungency, the scent invading her skull and staining her tongue. Her body creaked and groaned, a splitting headache crashing through Liana. An indescribable note rang out, a noise her mind couldn't entirely process, and it felt as if something big happened.
An instant later, it was over. She blinked, unthinkingly wiping the tear-trails of blood off her cheeks with her sleeve. The crow was still bouncing around endearingly and her hand loosened its' **** grip on her pen without her noticing. A small smile crossed her face, the discomfort and noise mostly forgotten as she got to work bringing her temporary muse to parchment.
Liana stumbles into her dorm room, her bag thudding heavy on the floor as she moves toward rest. Her hand cramped from all of the drawing she did, barely attempting to look focused during class as an odd font of inspiration overwhelmed her, laid limply at her side as she shambled into bed with a flop. Her other clutched her notebook close to her chest, a tired but truly satisfied grin on her face as her hair splayed out behind her.
"Jeez," Liana flinched at Kelli's light voice, the other girl stepping out of the bathroom, "I don't know what's gotten into you, but I approve."
Dark eyes looked up at light blue, Kelli's amused smile. Stuffing her phone into her pocket, she pushes past the doorway and sits on her own bed before continuing. "I take it that it was a better-than-average day? Did you manage to pull your hood down?"
Liana sighed despite Kelli's compassionate tone, a little disappointed in herself. "No," she muttered, "I... I forgot to." Liana rolled to face the wall, not wanting to see the pity in her only friend's eyes.
"Oh, Li..." There was a ruffle of cloth on cloth, a dip in her mattress as her friend sat down on her bed, finally a tan hand reached over and held her own pale, limp hand.
"You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, that's amazing news, right?" She asked, for once Liana couldn't hear a hollow ring to those words. Liana rolled over, her friend's curtain of hair thankfully held back by a ponytail, and saw a calm and proud expression.
Liana's earlier mood tried to reassert itself but was drowned in a wave of melancholy. "How is that amazing? I didn't do the one thing I set out to do today..." A part of her hated how much she sounded like she was pleading, but Liana had gotten better at ignoring that particular voice these days.
Kelli simply laughed, "Because you managed to forget it."
Liana paused, utterly confused. "Wha?"
A flick to her forehead managed to push her out of her stupor, but Liana glared at her so-called friend for the transgression. Kelli merely cocked an eyebrow and crossed her arms under her generous bust.
They stared at each other for a minute before cackling like a pair of loons.
Liana smiled a small, honest smile. "I did forget my anxiety for a bit there, didn't I? I was just so... I don't know, oddly enthralled? I wanted to capture this little crow I saw, and the time.. the time flew by?" She said increasingly confused at her actions.
"Well, it sounds like we're making a dent in that people problem then? Between us and the school therapist, we'll bust through that shell yet!" Kelli said with confidence.
Liana rolled her eyes, "You really are too nice to me, you know that?"
Kelli poked her cheek, "Was that a hint of sarcasm there, young lady? You are having a very good day, aren't you?"
A pillow slammed itself into the tanned girl's face. "Don't jinx it!" Liana squawked.
Kelli let herself get smacked twice more before waving her hands in surrender, "Okay okay! Fine! I won't comment on what kinda day you're having. Please, mercy!"
Liana giggled at her friend's antics. "Your plea is accepted, criminal," she said, ignoring the middle finger her friend flashed her.
Kelli calmed herself, "I really am proud of you, Liana. You've come a long way from the girl who wouldn't even speak to me the first two years we knew each other." Liana nodded, not fully feeling it but knowing better than to argue with Kelli on this.
"So," she continued, "can I see what had you so enraptured?"
Liana hesitated, not ever comfortable with sharing something she made... but, this was Kelli. Like a rusted machine, she slowly and shakily pushed her notebook forward. Kelli went to grab it, nearly missing when Liana pulled it back with a jerk. Kelli leveled an amused look at her, and with a sigh and a little sweat, she relented.
Book firmly in hand, Kelli opens the book. With a pen in the middle, it took her to the latest page. It was hardly high art, the prepositions were wonky, and so on. Still, Kelli smiled softly at the picture and a weight lifted from Liana's chest. Now she felt warmth instead.
"It's nice, Liana. Way better than just a doodle."
"You think so?" Liana asked, a little stunned.
"Yeah," her friend nodded, "it's definitely art. I like it. You know, it's not too late to get a communications degree?" She offered, "It's more secure than an art degree, but you still get to do stuff like this."
Liana shook her head, blinking as a tinge of tiredness crept in on her, "No, it's fine. I... I either want to keep my hobby as a hobby or go all in, you know?"
"Yeah, I guess I get that," she said, seemingly unconvinced.
Liana yawned, "Man... I had a full day today, huh?"
Kelli got up, handing the notebook back. "Yeah. You caught me right before I was going to head to Shivani and Mary Anne's place for a bit. Just a little drinking and chatting, nothing too involved. Why don't you take a nap while I'm out? I'll lock the place up behind me."
Liana yawned again and nodded, her exhausted mind finding the idea agreeable. "Mmhm. You'll call me if something happens, right?"
"Absolutely." She said without hesitation, "I'll see you when I get back, okay? Or maybe tomorrow, with how tired you look." A hand brushed through Liana's black hair, soothing her.
"Mmmhm... Night, Kel." A sleepy smile buried itself into her pillow.
A fond voice replied, "Night, Li."
It wasn't long after, with the light flicked off and the blackout curtains holding back the last glimmers of the day's sun, that Liana fell into a deep sleep. Under her modest chest, she clutched her notebook like a teddy bear. Notably, it was still opened to the page of her latest creation: a rough sketch of a crow flying gracefully in the air, the Earth held gently in its claws.
