Learning Better
Felix raised a finger to his lips as they stood back and watched. It was a touching moment these two had, and though KuliKuli was eager to join in and donate a few personal words, her mother was quick to shake her head no. Let the two have their moment and share their bed, not that there would be much activity in there anyhow. At last, Reta was the first to walk away signaling to the others that the show was over and thus, all of them walked away one by one.
"That was eeeeeeeeee that was sooooooo agh!" Dimyri squealed, keeping sure to maintain a low volume in her voice.
KuliKuli giggled and shook her head, paws balled up in contained excitement. "It was great huh? Gosh, so sweet."
Emyri had walked into the kitchen when Felix found her there, concerned and staring into the heat stove. While the other girls were now sharing their thoughts on the couple up above, she had slipped by and looked alone with her thoughts. Felix cleared his throat to signal his appearance.
"Hey, did you want to be alone?"
Emyri shook her head, eyes fixated into the stove. "Not at all dear, feel free to come right by. Am I standing in the way?"
"No you're fine, just wanted to ask if you're doing alright? I don't mean to pry or anything." He mumbled as he leaned over the counter.
"I... hmmm." She frowned once more, tails coiled around her curvy waist. He noticed a slight shift in their movement sliding up and over each other, until his eyes lowered their gaze and fell upon a familiar forbidden sight to behold. It really was something that passed through the family, he thought to himself before blinking and hanging his head in shame and embarrassment. Too far, you don't think those kind of thoughts!
Emyri had noticed and although initially she wouldn't let him forget about her beauty, this time she ignored the action and turned it away. Her eyes blinked and darted from him back to looking in front of her, a slight growl introduced itself to break the odd silence they were sharing. Felix blinked and found himself withheld from a few chuckles.
"Sorry, as you can see I have one thing in mind right now." She admitted, cupping her cheek with her paw. Was it out of reaction, maybe a brief naïve effort to hide her blush? Or perhaps something else? Well, she had teased him constantly with her nudity since they first met, why now was this something to feel nervous about? She wondered the same thing before reluctantly giving in. "Actually I do need your help with things."
His eyes were raised when she turned around and giggled, cherish the thought. "No, not with that though I am flattered. I would like to make something for us to eat. However," She paused and raised her paws in the air, ooh that rhymed!
Felix felt himself bring out a low laugh as she lifted them up high waving them side to side. "No hands."
"I see. If you need me then I can be your hands. What do you need?" He pulled his sleeves back and rubbed his hands together, getting ready for directions.
"Actually that is also a problem, I do not know what to cook. Food for Nekomatas is one thing, but I have little experience feeding humans."
Felix blinked and tilted his head just then, making her blush. Emyri looked back and smiled. "Did I say something off?"
"You're the first cat I hear pronounce that correctly." He replied, hearing her giggle in response as he continued. "No really, KuliKuli can't say it right. Dimyri can't say it right. Syri too, and I've never heard Na'Vi mention the word so I can't speak for her."
"Nor would she want to, and I cannot say for sure if her pronunciation is accurate as well. She says it incorrectly but I believe she does it on purpose. To humor my daughters, I suppose."
"Oh, to make KuliKuli feel better?" He asked.
"No, she doesn't care for the word." She answered, her tails now waving side to side in a gentle motion. "So what do you propose we make?"
Felix shrugged. "Any kind of human food will do actually, when I was with KuliKuli I fed her plenty of regular food and none of it made her sick."
"Really?"
"Yea! Don't know if it was pure fortune on my side, we mostly had fruits and meats with the occasional bread on the side. Though her favorite was salmon, that was for sure!"
Emyri nodded in agreement. "Definitely is, I am glad to see that much has not changed. Okay then big boy, how about you teach me how to cook here?"
"Certainly, I don't know much myself so don't expect any exotic meals. Also depends on what Janette has around here, but we will see."
The next few minutes, Emyri calmly observed him bring out several ingredients and helped him however she could, bringing him anything he needed and listening with intrigue as he explained and demonstrated what he was doing. As he was stirring up a tasty stew, she leaned back and smiled at him.
"Honestly, how did you come to learn these things?"
"Hm?"
"You know your way with animals, you know how to farm and grow crops, you seem to have an idea how to maintain a steady household in structure from how she describes your line of work. How did you learn so much? When I was your age, I was terrified of the world and confident in my uncertainty of how to survive, let alone be in charge of so many girls who look up to me."
Felix rubbed his hair shyly. "Actually, if I were in charge I would definitely do the worst job there. I don't know much really, just enough to manage I think. Just looking out to see what happens tomorrow and if I have something to eat when hungry."
He walked over and parted the window open to let out the steam from the stew, raising an eye when her heard something rummage and shuffle in reflex as he did.
"So what was it you did before, when you were little?" Emyri asked, tail holding the stirring handle to keep the mix going.
Felix turned around and shrugged. "I was working for someone with a lot of money who needed a lot of hands. Ended up passed to someone else, then someone else, and eventually one day that someone else didn't return from a trip to the market. I remember this stranger walking in tp investigate the house with several soldiers behind him before reading a letter stating that we could go wherever. A lot of us didn't have a clue what to do on our own."
"So how did you manage?"
"I don't know. I just walked and asked for work and sometimes I got lucky and other times I slept hungrily. Eventually did a good job of impressing that I was left to look over a house when I found KuliKuli during a nasty storm."
Emyri looked surprised. "A storm, when was that? Was it months back, a thunderstorm?"
KuliKuli and Dimyri entered the room, humming a soft tune and smiling. "That smells super yummy! Are we having dinner?" KuliKuli asked.
Felix smiled. "Sure, it's almost ready. Go ahead and call in the others."
"Oh Dimyri, could you ask the two upstairs if they would like a bite?" Emyri asked.
"Yea of course! Don't start without me!' She called out with Felix returning to stew the pot some more.
Even his stomach had started to growl. the shrub beyond the parted window wiggling slightly as he tasted their dinner.
