Landlady

"Well what in the name of.."

Lauren turned to see Mrs Stodd, her grumpy old landlady staring right down at her from her open door frame. Lauren didn't like her at all, she would complain about Lauren's friends visiting at all hours of the night, music being up too loud and parties that made too much noise.

"Dearie, what might I ask, are ya doin out here all alone with ya underwear in ya hands and ya tushie all hangin out?"

Her tone told Lauren that she had no clue who she was. Afterall, Mrs Stodd only ever saw Lauren when she was dressed to the nines with all of her padding in place hair and makeup immaculate. Right now, Lauren was mortified, her pale freckled face turned bright red in two seconds flat. The only solace lauren had was that the landlady didn't recognise her. Maybe she could fool the grumpy old biddy for a few hours, or at least until she could figure out how to get more clothes and the exterminators were done. With trepidation Lauren spoke in a hushed tone to Mrs Stodd.

"U-uh, I'm Liz. Im Lauren's cousin and im staying with her for the summer."

"Alright then, that explains who ya are! Now where is that trouble making cousin of yours? She shouldn't be letting ya wander around outside by yourself, you look like you're still in your jammies by the looks of it."

Lauren flushed even redder and tried to pull the sides of her flimsy shirt down further to cover her privates, front and back, one of her bare pale shoulders popping out of her collar in the process. Lauren struggled to find an excuse but gritted her teeth and was ready to go any lengths to protect her secret.

"I-I was going downstairs to p-play. Lauren had to go out, and there is exterminators in her apartment."

"And she didn't take you with her!?"

"No, caus it was a work call"

"That little tramp Lauren is going to get a piece of my mind when she gets back, for now though, looks like you're with me kid. My names' Jenna, and im sort of the super around this place."

Lauren, or 'Liz' which she was now known as shuddered at that last statement. She was in hands of her grumpy landlady, but for how long? How would she get out of the predicament? She was a pretty good thinker on her toes. Lauren told herself she'd just wing. Besides, anything was better than the humiliation of her secret.
