Lacy visits a sex shop

Jack parked the car in a lot outside a dingy old building. It didn't look any nicer than the place he'd picked her up, but this spot had one thing up on that one: a sign, announcing it as the XXX ATTRACTIONS SEX SHOP AND THEATRE. It was almost a relief. Lacy could handle a sex shop. She had vibrators, and she'd been in bridal parties. It was no big deal, ending up at a sex shop. She wondered whether this was the gig Jack had mentioned. The girl at the desk was cute, with bright colored green hair and an undercut. She was wearing a tank top, and as far as Lacy could tell, no bra. She tried not to gawk. Maybe hiring pretty girls to work the register helped move product.

"Hey Lia, good to see you," said Jack.

Lia had a bored smile. She was leafing through an ancient porn magazine. It could have been older than her. Probably was. "Hey, Jack. She's cute." Her eyes were intense. She wore contacts, real old school goth stuff, bright purple. When she saw Lacy, her smile got a little bit bigger.

Lacy smiled at the friendly face. "Thanks, you're so pretty!" Then she turned to Jack. "So what are we doing here?"
