Katie reads her assignment

Katie was the last student in the class to retrieve her assignment from Ms. Ketting. She grabbed the assignment paper, and walked back to her desk to read it. Ms. Ketting watched Katie as she read over her assignment, waiting to see her reaction when it is revealed the project must be done in the nude. The first part of the assignment mentioned how it would be a time-lapse assignment documenting a day in her life. Though Katie never used herself as a subject, she did not seem bothered by this part. But unsurprisingly, Katie's eyes went wide in shock as she finished reading the assignment rules. Katie sat at her desk, staring at the sheet of paper in front of her for a few minutes, hoping it was some a joke of some sort. Wanting further clarification, Katie finally worked up the courage to ask Ms. Ketting about the assignment.

"Ms. Ketting, can I ask you a question about my assignment?" Katie inquired

"Sure thing Katie, what is it?" the professor asked coyly, knowing perfectly well what her question was going to be about.

"Everything seemed clear until this last part here. So when you say 'naked'... do you mean it in more of a metaphorical sense... or... I can't believe I'm asking this... literal, not-wearing-clothes sense?" Katie asked quietly, so that none of her classmates could hear about her potentially embarrassing final project. She prayed her teacher was intentionally vague as a joke, and would never ask something so humiliating of her.

"I meant it in the literal sense. I want to see a day in the life of Katie, sans clothing. Ideally, you will act no different than you would while clothed. I won't reveal the reason behind doing so, as your goal is to find out for yourself. By the end of this project, you should be able to say 'I know exactly why my art professor would make me strip naked for a day for a project'." Ms. Ketting said matter-of-factly.

"Are-are you serious? You seriously want me to film myself for an entire day, completely naked?!?" Katie asked forcefully, though still attempting to stay quiet.

"Yes. Is that all Katie? I know you'll hit it out of the park." Ms. Ketting replied

"I'm sorry, but there is no way I can do such a thing. I can't just walk around in my birthday suit for a whole day!" Katie pleaded

"If you want to pass this class, you must do the final assignment. It is impossible to pass otherwise. It's your choice, Katie, but it would be a shame for such a bright young woman like yourself fail a course over a little nudity." Ms. Ketting retorted. She knew the last statement would keep her from dropping out.

Katie was proud of her achievements, and when Ms. Ketting reminded her that those achievements would be worth nothing if Katie backed down over "a little nudity", Katie knew she couldn't drop out now.

"Yes, Ms. Ketting." Katie said sullenly. She couldn't believe she just agreed to do such a humiliating project. How was she going to get through it? One of the rules was that she couldn't just stay home all day. According to her assignment, she had to be outside of her home for more than half of the day, and couldn't purposefully hide in one place to avoid embarrassment. That meant there was no possibility for Katie to avoid being seen.

Katie gulped. "Guess I'm doing it" she told herself. Hopefully she'll learn something valuable from this project from hell.
