K01 - Fresh Start Station

As the train hurtled down the track, Callie kicked back on one of the seats, kicking her leg lazily as she reclined with her hands behind her head. Marie, meanwhile, was standing with her back against the wall, flicking through the data she had available on her CQ-80. This K-Line really was mysterious; apparently they weren't even sure how many stations it even had yet, because the red line on the screen just faded away into a question mark.

"Hey Marie!" Callie called, a little too loud considering they were maybe five feet apart, "shouldn't we look through the rest of the train cars for other people? Agent 8 said she saw all sorts of neat people. Some of them helped out, too!" Marie sighed and put away her device. It was true, the train car they found themselves in was empty, other than the conductor and themselves.

"Let's just get to the first test before we start sight-seeing. We'll probably see people as we go deeper into the underground. Most folks probably don't ride this close to the surface."

"Ohh, makes sense!" Callie got up, and pulled out her Splat-Roller. Sheldon wasn't involved in this particular outing, so the Squid Sisters just had their usual weapons with them. Between Callie's Roller and Marie's Splat Charger, the two were a little specialized, but they could cover each other's weaknesses well enough! And at least they knew what weapon's they'd have going in to each test....

"So we just need to blow through this first test! Got it!" Callie said, taking a few practice swipes with her Roller. She swung softly, but still a few drops of purple-pink ink fell to the floor of the train car, and Marie noticed the spines along C.Q.'s body bristle.

"If someone doesn't get us kicked off the train before we even get there...." Marie scolded. Callie looked down and gave their host a sheepish grin, stowing her weapon away and awkwardly rubbing her sneaker through the ink to try and smear it away, before giving up and returning to her seat. C.Q. Cumber's head bobbed down in what seemed to approximate a sigh, before the tiny conductor turned to slink back towards the engine compartment, leaving the Squid Sisters in silence aside from the dull buzz of the lights and the clacking of the subway cars along the tracks towards their destination.

"So this is.... weird," Marie said waiting for Callie to follow her out of the train. It took a bit to reach the K-Line's first stop, and her cousin had fallen asleep despite her earlier enthusiasm. Past the platform the train cars opened out to stretched a void, filled with random, giant objects. It wasn't that different to when she guided Agent 4 through their adventure above, but it still seemed somehow stranger to her. In this case, most of what was floating around seemed like if a giant washing machine exploded. A few recognizable machine parts here and there, some clouds of soap suds, a few socks.... Marie grimaced as a giant pair of tighty-whities drifted past in the distance.

"I think it's neat!" Callie said, and C.Q. Cumber saluted as the two of them were both finally through the doors. Before them was a gate (they let it scan their CQ-80's and got it) and a pair of launch pads just past it, one of the usual giant, floating obstacle courses visible off in the distance. With a smile from Callie, and a shrug from Marie, the two walked over to the launch pads and shrunk into their squid forms, blasting off into a stream of purple and green ink, respectively. Only, instead of landing on solid ground ready to go, they landing next to each other in strange, metal tubes that started shaking as they were filled.

"Wh-Hey!"

"Ah! That tickles!"

With a final shudder, the tubes released the girls, whose eyes widened as they looked down at themselves and each other. Instead of Callie's casual clothes and Marie's kimono, they were each in a skin tight body-suit in their respective colors, with a pair of gloves and boots to match. Callie marveled at how it clung perfectly sized to her flared hips and sizable backside, while Marie silently lamented how well it showed off her impressive bust.

"Wow! I mean, I kinda hope we can get our clothes back at some point," Callie said, "but I'm kind of digging this look!"

"I feel violated," Marie said dryly, "I guess I'm glad it let us keep our weapons and phones." The Sisters looked forward as the stage started to creak to life. On the ground in front of them there was a Sprinkler, but instead of spraying out an enemy color of ink like they were used to, the liquid was clear and smoother, almost like....

"Water?" Callie asked.

"It'll splat us the same as any ink would. I guess if the two of us are already two different colors of ink, it's easier to have something that just gets rid of it instead of adding a third color," Marie mused, though her brow furrowed. "Between that and the two launch pads at the beginning, its a little too convenient though. Weren't the rest of these made for one person at a time...?"

"Dunno!" shouted Callie, pulling out her roller, "but if it's just like a normal course we should be able to get through it no problem!" Callie flung a line of ink past the sprinkler and swam ahead before it was washed away. "C'mon!" Marie sighed and did the same with her Charger, neither noticing that a brief splash had sent droplets onto them as they passed, those tiny bits of water each washing a hole into their new suits, as if the clothes themselves were made of ink....
