Julie stops you as you're leaving the Doctor's Office

Doctor Bensen finishes examining you and announces that everything is normal and you may go. You quickly put your shirt back on then exit the examining room. The secretary looks over your information then thanks you. You nod to her then turn and leave. You push the door open and head for your car. Half way there you hear shouting and turn to see who it is. Julie is standing in the doctor's office doorway. She runs across the parking lot and stands in front of you.

"Thanks for saving my ass back there, John. I owe you," she says. "Hey, how about I take you to lunch, I am actually off right now for the next hour."

You agree and you're off to a restaurant of her choosing. It is a small but fancy Chinese restaurant, it is noon and the place is empty. She picks a table in the far corner of the room. It is a square table and has a large red table cloth that goes all the way to the floor. You sit against the wall and she sits opposite you. After a quick look at the menu you give the waitress your order and she leaves you two alone. Julie smiles from the other side of the table.

"It was really nice of you to lie for me. I know Bensen saw the broken glass after anyway. She talked to me and said that the only reason she didn't fire me was because of how you reacted. She said I must have some pretty good people skills and that makes me a valuable asset," Julie says.

"Well Julie, I am glad I could help you," you tell her.

"I still owe you Mr. Doe, lunch isn't enough to repay you for saving my job. I am only a part-time assistant for Dr. Bensen and the money is good. I am putting myself through college with the money so the job means a lot to me," she explains.

You just smile at her, thinking about how you didn't want her life story.

"So now I would like to repay you," she says.
