Well, there was no help for it now. James had already made up his mind, he wasn't leaving her, so he leaned over and crawled closer until he was right beside her. Yes, he was probably still taking a chance, cornering her like this, but right now he was all out of patience. Nothing, not even his own safety, was going to stop him.

James sat right down beside Sapphire and every so gently, rest a hand atop her head. She twitched, but otherwise gave no other reaction to his touch. Taking the patty he already had in his hand, James placed it in her hand, closed her fingers around it, and assisted it up to her lips. Was he perhaps moving too fast? Yes, he most certainly was, but he wasn't going to give himself any time to second guess himself.

Just as he opened his mouth to tell Sapphire to eat, she had already opened hers and took a bite out of the patty. Just like with Jade, she gave a pause before chewing slowly, swallowing before taking another bite. When she finished, he placed another in her hands, and before long the plate was empty.

Giving her a smile, James couldn't help stroking between her ears. "Good girl, now as promised I'll let you sleep and maybe we can talk more tomorro- Hey!" He gave a startled exclamation as Sapphire jumped at him.
