Chapter 13 by Bookmite Bookmite

Energy restored, could this be trouble?

Yes, but the good kind of trouble

James closed his eyes, expecting the worst, until he heard sniffling. He knew what the sound meant, even if you've never had a woman cry on you, everyone knew exactly what that sound meant. So he wasn't surprised when he opened his eyes to find Sapphire with her arms wrapped around his waist, and her head buried in his shirt, obviously crying. Her claws dug into his back a bit painfully, but not so hard as to pierce skin, and his shirt was already starting to feel very moist.

Not being able to help himself, James tenderly wrapped his arms around the poor girl. It was just a natural reaction really, what else could one do in that situation? And that is how they stayed, Sapphire weeping in his arms, and James holding her silently. He didn't try to comfort her with words, because he didn't think any would help right now. Instead he simply made soothing noises as the minutes passed.

After what seemed like hours, though maybe only 15 minutes or so had actually passed, he finally felt her relax a bit and all he heard was the sound of her breathing. Sapphire had finally cried herself to sleep, and he was loathe to wake her up. James didn't dare move her to the bed, for fear it would interrupt her peaceful slumber. Luckily the bed was close by, near enough to simply reach over and pull the cover off.

And so the night passed, the two of them huddled on the floor, wrapped in a thick blanket. The day had passed quickly, and while it was still only late afternoon, the events of the day finally caught up to James and he drifted off to sleep as well.

What will the morning bring?

More fun
