Chapter 49 by Almax Almax

Where do you aim?!

It's so quick, just focus on hitting it at all!

This thing is really slippery, you don't want to compromise you attack by trying something fancy. Instead, you just {if@ Weapon == 2}SLAM the big wide hammer-end of your Sledgeaxe into the monster, {if RocketSledgeaxe == True}with rocket power and everything, {endif}and it's a good thing too! Just as you're completing the swing, the monster's snapped back to a fully-recovered attention and tries to leap out of the way. But you don't let it, with your indiscriminate swing!

The monster gets rocked by your heavy hit, not falling over just yet, but moving a bunch of steps in order to do so. {elseif Weapon == 1}flick on the electric blue sparks and bring down {if BatonVolt == True}the end of your staff HARD onto the monster, more focused on doing blunt **** damage with any electricity being extra. Then you bring up the staff, and do it again and again and again! It's sort of fun.{else}both batons simultaneously onto the monster -- then swing them both up and down and up and down as many more times as you can! At this point, you're treating it almost as if you're relying entirely on the batons, so anything good that the electricity does is just a bonus.{endif} The monster gets no time to recover at all under your ****, and by the time you pull your arms back to catch your breath (because you really got yourself worked up just now), its clearly out of it.

{endif}With the simulated monster stunned, you take a deep and happy breath, then go in to finish it off! Your final swing passes through the chitin, {if RocketSledgeaxe == True}cracked and crumbling from the **** of your ****, {endif}and takes down the monster with one final "SCCREEEE!!!".

The sccreeee only actually plays for half of its length, then there's a half-second of silence like somebody paused it, and then the rest plays. {if@ Weapon == 2}Heavy Sledgeaxes, huh?{elseif Weapon == 1}Electricity and simulations, huh?{endif} Hopefully you won't get in trouble for damaging school property, since in this case it was the point, but.... you did it!!

You totally just beat your first ever monster, one-on-one! It flops over limply onto the gravel path as you jump up and down on the spot in celebration, because really, this moment is just the best and you want to enjoy the moment. But then you gather yourself again! You may be super-awesome and incredible and the best, but the rest of your class might still need help, so the fight it's over yet.

On the grass a short distance behind you, Cameron's engaged with the monster that reached him about a minute ago. It looks like he's winning, since he's not getting hit and he's landing a ton of bladed-shield-punches, but most of them are hitting the monster's chitin armour. So it might take him a bit to beat it.

On the bridge just in front of you, Delilah's trading attacks and blocks with that first monster. It really looks like the fight could go either way, and that isn't just you being mean -- every sickle swing and every scythe swipe is getting blocked, hitting the monster's chitin, or getting dodged by Delilah. It doesn't look like anybody's landed the first proper hit yet. Though, to be fair and unbiased, you do have to admit the jumps and ducks that Delilah's pulling off look a little bit cool. Sort of.

Alright! Feel good about yourself and brag mentally later! Right now, you're needed elsewhere, by your classmates.

Where do you go to help?
