What should I look into?
Investigate the reporter.
While I had many safeguards to keep the secrets of the Smith Paper Company, it still wasn't worth the risk of having a reporter snooping around. I placed a phone call to one of my informants to see what he knew about her.
Michelle Rotsenburg, thirty-one years of age. No surviving family. Over the last few years, she's won numerous awards for her muck-raking journalism. Certainly a threat, but I wasn't sure if I could scare her away, or if I should permanently remove her from the picture.
She lived alone, about thirty miles north of here in a somewhat upscale area. I sunk back into my chair to ponder my options.
