Into the town

You wander into town, sticking to the sidewalks, staying close to buildings, trying to not make any noise. Most of the places seem deserted, like no one had been in them for a very long time. Every now and then you would hear a clutter and freeze, only to resume movement in a few minutes. Around half way through the town center you notice a small food shop. Thinking there is a smaller chance of it being inhabited by something. Looking around you also notice a clothes store, you've been needing a new pair of shoes for a while now and no one seems to be inside.
