Into the forbidden depths...

You continue your never ending descent. The oppressive darkness has become a comfort as much as a threat. Sure, you can't see anything - but with a little luck anything can't see you either.

Your theory holds out until something brushes past your arm.

You whirl about in the water, panicked, but nothing further accosts you. Maybe it was just a drifting bit of plant...

Something slides against you again, bolder this time. It feels horribly slick and leaves the feeling of a strange ooze across your back. You lash out again, hitting nothing but open water in your blindness.

"Are ya lost?" The voice is slurred, dreamy, and muffled in the water, but unmistakably right next to your hear. You send a punch that way and it collides with something that feels like slick rubber. Your hand comes back covered in more goo.

"Aw, don'need to be like that," the voice mocks, "s'been ages since we saw another human down'ere..."

Dots of pale blue light blink on across the curtain of dark. In their movements and shape they imply the silhouette of a human, though one whose torso is far too long.

The lights draw closer. With a visible target you think you could get a better shot off on it. Though it may not be the best idea to anger the first water beast you meet.
