Intercom Announcement

Lauren felt her heart beating in anticipation. Just a few more minutes of being led through the zoo dressed like this, then she could sneak away, get her belongings back, and pretend that today was just a nightmare!

That was when the group came up to the kangaroo exhibit. She looked towards Rachel and her children and saw that they were distracted by the animals in the fenced yard. Lauren grinned from ear to ear. This was it! The little woman slowly and quietly turned around to make her escape, tiptoing away from her old high school victim. She had just gotten two feet away from Rachel when, all of a sudden...

"Attention, zoo patrons." A voice called out from the loudspeakers around the zoo, "Will Lauren Jones please report to the main office? Again, will Lauren Jones please report to the main office? Your mother is waiting for you."

Lauren paled instantly. Her mother?! Her mother was here?! How did she know that Lauren was -

Lauren's heart immediately sank as she let out a horrified gasp. Vanessa! Of course her sister would recognize her! Vanessa must have sent them on a wild goose chase so that she could call their mother. She couldn't go to the main office now. Her mother would go nuclear on her!

"Lauren's here?!" Lauren heard Rachel snarl from behind, causing her blood to run cold. Looking over her shoulder, Lauren saw that the mother had a scowl on her face. Thankfully, it didn't seem like Rachel had put two and two together yet as she glared at the loudspeaker.

"W-who's Lauren?" Lauren asked innocently. Hopefully, she could keep this charade up and keep Rachel in the dark about her identity. Who knew what would happen if her cover was blown.

"She's a very mean and rude lady who got me into a lot of trouble when we were younger." Rachel explained, scowl on her face. Lauren tried to keep a scowl off her own face as Rachel said that.

"Although," Rachel said as she pushed the stroller forward, Amanda and Janet once again grabbing Lauren's hands as they lead her after their mother, "I am curious just why her mother is here..."

Lauren gulped uneasily. She knew exactly what her mother was doing here. And she knew full well that she had to come up with a new plan to get out of this mess...
