“Hey kids! Enjoy dinner?”

“Yes Master” Wendy Said enthusiastically

Chuckling dad continues. “Please call me Mr. Harris, or Alistor. John is technically the master now, but I assume you’ll just call him John or darling, or heck who knows master in the bedroom if you want. I don’t judge”

We all have a nice laugh from that. “So dad, what did you want with Wendy again?”

“A few things actually, the first well bringing her cake, and also wishing her a happy birthday, second giving my blessing for your relationship together, third, birthday present. Yeah I got here two vouchers for a 2 week cruise trip for you two, I know you’ll like that, in a couple months and the last one is the most important.”

“Mr. Harris? Is it business related or something?”

“Kinda, both of your mothers were good friends with each other actually. That was why I gave you the job I couldn’t leave you to roam the streets alone. But here’s the thing, your mother actually won the lottery before she died. And she couldn’t give it to you because well, you were too young and your extended family would probably harass you over it.”

He takes a deep breath, “anyways, I’ve helped you invest those winnings for the past 6 years, and now it has accumulated into a nice sum of 15 million dollars. So I’m just here to legally give it to you since your 18 now. Here just sign this and it’ll be transferred to your bank account. Don’t worry, it’s just a transfer of money, John you can check over it just in case.”

I start to quickly skim the page. Yep just transferring the money.

“Anyways, now this is a lot of money, I’m sure John will help you manage it if you ask him, but if you are careful enough and invest you wouldn’t need to work for the rest of your life, and since your in a relationship with John, I’m not sure if you still want to work as his servant.”

Shaking Wendy grabs a pen and signs the contract “so I’m a millionaire now?”

“Yep, that was all I needed from you, I’ll head off and let you two alone now, have a good night you two.”

He leaves and Wendy turns to face me I say “I understand if you don’t want to be my servant anymore, you can live a proper life now, I won’t hold anything against you Wendy.”

“No I want to still work for you. I guess I want to spend more time with you and it’s really the only thing I know how to do. And I love you, I want to do everything in my power to help you.”

“Wendy, you’ve worked for 6 years without a vacation and a few rare days off, and you were just handed a ticket to a relaxing life.”

“I know, but it just feels right for me, and I guess your dad just gave us one in a few months.” She smiles

“Wendy I-” She cuts me off

“This is what I want John maybe in a few years I’ll stop and we can settle down” she giggles “but for now, I know what I want. Let’s get changed out of all this fancy clothes.”
