IC Day 11 - OHMYGODNO

You almost drop your phone as you rush to dial Angela.

Adella sits there with this look on her face like she’s expecting something to happen.

“Hmm,” she says. “I feel fine.”

“Hello, Ingrid?”

“If my friend gave herself a shot of a thing that I do not know what it is what should she do?” you ask in a panic.

Angela takes several moments to answer.

“It’s fine,” Adella says reassuringly. "Don't worry about it." You ignore her.

“Um, your friend should go to the infirmary immediately,” Angela says finally.

“OK, we will see you there!” You hang up, grab Adella’s hand, and pull her off the bed and into the hall. She laughs.

“It’s fine,” she insists as she stumbles behind you. Then she stops. “Oh,” she says. “I’m a little dizzy.”

You get her to the infirmary, and Angela arrives minutes later, turning on the lights. Adella sits on an examination table in a spotless little checkup room. She gazes at Angela in her white coat.

“Hello, nurse,” she says.

“OK, let’s take a look at you.” Angela draws some blood into a vial, then sticks the vial into a machine.

“That is all?” you ask.

“She injected something into her blood. All I need to see is her blood,” Angela says, peering into a little thing that looks like a microscope. “Did your friend say where she got this?”

“From Green Team,” you reply.

“Green Team?” Angela looks up. “And how do you feel?” she asks Adella.

“Fine. A little dizzy.”

“Please do not inject yourself with things that you don’t know what they are,” Angela tells her.

Adella shrugs. Angela goes back to looking at her thing.

“This will not harm you,” she announces at last, looking annoyed. “But you should rest.”

“What about Green Team? They threatened a puppy,” you say. “If I told anyone. And I have told you.”

“I will deal with Green Team. You rest,” Angela says sternly. “And don’t do that!”

“OK,” Adella says, looking as though you and Angela are the unreasonable ones for thinking that injecting things irresponsibly is bad.

You take Adella back to the Lodge, **** her out of her clothes and into bed, where you sit to make sure that she stays.

“There is no puppy,” she assures you, taking your hand as she lies there, smiling.

You know that’s probably true, but… those girls are crazy. You don’t trust them.

“I was thinking about going out tonight,” Adella says tentatively. “Would you want to come?”

Is she asking you on a date? “No!” you say, and she flinches. “You have to rest.”

Now it’s quiet. The rain’s still falling, and you hear some girls laugh as they pass in the hall outside your room. Adella keeps looking at you. You start getting embarrassed.

“What?” you say.

“Nothing. You are very red.”

Are you? You touch your forehead and find it hot. Actually, you do feel kind of escalated. You thought it was because of how worried you were, but is that it? Your heart’s still beating fast.

She’s kind of squeezing and stroking your hand.

“I had fun last night,” she says.

“Are you dizzy right now?” you ask her. Is she seriously thinking about sexy things right now? After what just happened.
