"Mister Krauss, I thank you so much for inviting me into your home, with your lovely wife. I know the two of you are very busy with today's gathering, not to mention your father's health, so let me keep this very brief," I assured them. The two were exchanging nervous glances, probably thinking about all those angry Ushiromiya siblings out there. Part of me wanted to just stall, make them squirm more and more, so that eventually they'd agree to anything I wanted. However, if I did that, I'd waste the precious time I actually had with them.

I grabbed a crocodile-skin briefcase from nearby by right foot and placed it onto the small, setting table that separated our two couches. The sun hit the contents in a way I appreciated; it made it seem like God himself was smiling down on my suave business decisions.

"Thank you for all of your praise earlier and for all of your support so far. I want you to know: I'm not the type that's going to come to meet you empty-handed. That's why I want to jump straight to the very best part of my presentation."

"Yes, I can feel the excitement! This is what the others felt when you presented it to them earlier, didn't they, Player?!" Krauss parroted along, leeching off my energy. That was fine. I loved that part of him and it was especially useful now. "Look, Natsuhi! I want you to feel the same confidence I do in this wonderful plan!"

Natsuhi was already sitting up in her seat, but just a bit too straight to see over the lid of the briefcase and discern what was inside. Now, she would lean in slightly, her remarkably well-aged bosom swaying over the table in a way that spurred me on to my next decision. "Mister Player... what exactly is this?" she asked, turning her eyes to Krauss for a moment, before I managed to recapture them.
