Chapter 5 by Sarawalker
Get up and investigate? or Sleep it's been a long walk she's just wierd she'll wake me it there's a problem.
I should check she seems prone to problems.
You pull your sleeping bag off you and rub you eyes, better make sure she's all right its is really late. You're close enough to town that she could have run into someone out here. Grabbing your spear and pulling on shoes and a cloak you stark slinking towards the sounds. She's rather far away actually, that's sort of worrying, why would she think she needs to walk so far from the camp to do her praying? Maybe some one did grab her? You pick up the pace.
The source of the sounds are obscured, by trees, a red light flickers off the leaves and between the gaps between trees. Slinking up to one you lean in to try and get a clear idea whats going on.
"Ahh Master!! I'm sorry, I'll do better," It's clearly Mareth's voice, who is she talking to? You peek around the corner and you can't see anything, the light seems to be coming from a glowing orb she's holding but no one else is there.
A cracking sound like rocks breaking and grinding starts and stops. Mareth seems to wince and starts to cry.
"Please master we've almost made it to the town, she's been so kind to me. Maybe I can persuade her to join you in a little time." The sound starts again and is much louder. Tears start streaming from her face "I'm sorry, please master I'll do as you say. I won't question you again" She screams for a second a cut starts bleeding on the side of her face, the cracking noise starts for a moment and then the orb she's holding disappears. She slumps down and shivers violently.
What the hell was that? Should you confront her?
How do you handle this?
