What's next?
I’m Happy Just To Dance With You
“Where’s Gary?” You ask. Gary was the name of the cameraman who was supposed to capture the footage of the date between you and Jenna
“He’s in one of the beds. He’s sick,” Captain Francesco says in his heavy Spanish accent. “I was helping him while he was puking his guts out in the bathrooms. I think it’s a combination of seasickness and some other flu he had before he boarded.”
“Are you sure you have to leave us like this? I mean, isn’t it dangerous?” Jenna asks the captain as he prepares the tiny lifeboat.
“No other choice. The engine is out, and the radio is dead. I have to take this lifeboat to shore and get support,” Francesco said. “I’ll be back soon, but you are very safe in this boat. Trust me. If you are worried, then wear your life vests.”
“Why don’t we come with you?” Jenna asks.
“My lady, look at the size of this vessel. Would you like to sit on my lap? Normally I would, but with the seas in this condition, you are much safer in the boat while I risk myself. I am a good swimmer,” Francesco says.
“But what about that storm in the distance?” You ask.
“This ship can handle even a hurricane, believe me, friends. I checked the weather reports before we left, and it shouldn’t be that bad. Sorry, I have to go now, or you guys will run behind schedule for your little television show. I’ll be back soon.”
The orange lifeboat sped away, and Francesco waved goodbye, yelling, “Stay in the boat till we come to get you!”
Checking on Gary, the cameraman, he was in a small dark bedroom groaning. He had a fever and a puke pail next to his bed and his camera equipment left all around the small cabin room. Jenna was in the main cabin next to the galley where the dining table was, seated at a table looking into the porthole and nervously tapping her feet.
“Is everything alright?” You ask her.
“Y-yeah,” Jenna says, still nervously tapping.
“He’ll be back soon, they should have our route and last location,” You say.
The lights in the cabin started to flicker. Uh oh. You come beside Jenna and stared out into the porthole with her, and the sea looked ominous. Grey clouds were forming, and the surface of the sea was being trickled with drops of rain. Sensing her nerves, you rub Jenna’s shoulders.
“It’s going to be alright,” You say.
Sensing her unease at the situation, you scavenge what you can around the ship for things to do to pass the time while both of you waited for Francesco to come back with support.
Would you like a helping hand?
NO!
In one of the cabin storage, you found a supply kit. In it, there was an FM battery-powered radio, some battery-powered flashlights and lamps, and blankets.
Jenna was sitting, still eyeing the incoming storm in the distance through the porthole on the sofa in the main cabin. Placing the radio on the table, you handed her the blankets. She was still in a dress and looked cold.
“Thanks, Matt.”
“It’ll be fine. I brought a radio. Such a dick move from the producers cutting off our internet on our phones so we can’t pass the time,” You say.
Jenna didn’t reply but just kept staring out the porthole. Her hands were clenched to her seat, and she was nervously tapping away with her feet. You turn on the FM radio and tune it. Almost by divine intervention, the first station you manage to pick up was a station that played the Beatles.
The song Hard Day’s Night was playing and started at, “I’ve been working like a dog.” Jenna stares away from the porthole towards the radio, and then you and you both share an inside-joke smile. You get up and hold out your hand towards Jenna. She was a friend, and she was nervous. You want to settle her down. That was all that was happening.
Jenna takes both your hands with hers and gets up, and you swing her towards you and pull away again during the chorus and do a wonky swing move with her, the two of stepping over each other’s feet while laughter and “Ows!” echoes in the small cabin room. Somehow you managed to form an awkward swinging back and forth motion that you were comfortable with and just slow the pace down so you could both get comfortable with each other’s movements. You lead her and extend your hand, and she did a silly pirouette and came back, and you both laugh at each other’s attempt to dance.
The song ended, and you stand there hand on hand with Jenna just staring into each other’s eyes. The sparse Spanish you understood can make out the DJ saying, “That was Hard Day’s Night by the Beatles… inaudible Spanish… All Beatle’s Day Marathon… more Spanish you couldn’t understand… The next song is “Something” on the fantastic album Abbey Road.”
The soft melodic harmony of “Something” starts, and you and Jenna continue right off where you left. The “dancing” you two were doing was just an excuse to hold hands, move in slow rhythm in a bumbling circle, and stare at each other while George Harrison’s haunting voice hums in the distance. The lights started flickering while swayed each other in that cabin.
Jenna’s face had gotten hot, and her white skin began to flush. She licks her lips, and you can hear her try her best to control her breathing.
20:47 – Jenna’s lust has increased by 5 – She wants to kiss you right now
Your eyes tried to wave away the messages that popped before you. You were just dancing and helping her with her nerves. That’s all that was happening.
Jenna looks sleepy as the mellow guitar solo started playing, and her head moved forward to meet yours. She puckers her lips, and you felt frozen there as she planted her soft lips on yours. Like something that was left unfinished, you felt you need to do this. Like a dark cave that you knew would be dangerous, yet you still lit the torch and dove into it.
Small kisses turned into a long stare, which turned into a long kiss. Jenna’s soft hands gripped your head to hers, and you felt yourself sliding into an abyss of passion. You part trying to get your head straight, your nose touching hers and both of you closing your eyes but then forgetting all sense and drowning together once more with lips and tongues. The cabin filled with your sloppy wet sounds that were interrupted by thunder and the sound of rain and backed by the words "♪and all I have to do is think of her... Something in the thing she shows me...♪".
You let go of her and stare at her, her face filled with regret. She turns away from you and takes the blankets where she left them on the seat and went away with her head downcast softly cursing herself, leaving you there befuddled and hot.
Something was bothering you. A great fear loomed over you that if Captain Francesco doesn’t come back soon, something is bound to happen.
Does anything happen later?
