How Does Your Garden Grow

You March further onto the house’s grounds. Enormous flowers and vines wrap around any raised object. A vine tentatively creeps toward you as you delve deeper into the brush. You wave your hand and it bursts into flame.

After your display, the vines seem to shy away from you as you walk by.

You reach a greenhouse. Most of the glass is shattered and the structure seems to be struggling to contain what’s inside.

You step in. A path opens up. You walk slowly to the center of the greenhouse. There, in the very center, is a massive red flower. It looks similar to a hibiscus. It seems to sway and move toward you.

“I know you can hear me, and I’m pretty sure you can understand.”

The flower seems to rise and fall slowly in a motion reminiscent of nodding.

“I have a proposal. My Lord will allow you a ten acre park in every city in the world. In return you will stay within those boundaries. If you fail to accept this proposal you will be burned to the root.”

Again, the plant seems to nod.

“As a token of good faith, I will give you a gift.”

You allow a bit of demonic power to seep into its stamen.

“Now your pollen will have be quite addictive and have a wonderfully corrupting effect on any human smelling it.”

The flower slides back into place, basking in the moon’s rays, apparently content with your deal.

It offers no resistance as you and Allegra leave. You breath deeply the saccharine odor and smile.
