Hope springs eternal

No matter what she does, there was no way she could escape. One of my own engineers had designed and built my decontamination/interrogation cell and he had assured me of its impenetrability.

"Azurath... Metreon... ZINTHOS!"

I watched with amusement as she summoned up her most powerful blast of magical energy and sent it flying. She was targeting a tinted window placed in one of the walls, presumably because she thought I was behind it. Foolish girl, I don’t need windows to see you I muttered to my self.

The explosive reverberations from her **** caused the floor beneath my feet to shake. Even before the dust settled in the containment cell I knew something had gone wrong. The air cleared up just in time for me to see Raven run head long into a shimmering vortex of blue-green energy that occupied the space where my redundant window used to be.

“WHERE THE HELL IS SHE!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. I had been promised my cell was escape proof and yet my toy had just vanished.

“There appears to have been an unforeseen complication.” My engineer, a human scientist I had **** years ago from Area 51, reported in a trembling voice.

“Complication? You assured me there wouldn’t be any complications.”

“Well, it seems that the energy involved with her demon magic was able to penetrate the walls. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but the cell, as you know, is powered by the same type of energy you use to naturally travel extra-dimensional space time.”

“So Dr. Soon-to-be-killed-if-I-can’t-recapture-that-girl, what happened to her.”

“It seems she inadvertently managed to trigger some of your energy and create a portal. The good news is that it wasn’t very powerful so she can’t be too far and I don’t see how she could have been able to control where it sent her.”

“Will the tracking device I ordered you to install in her still work?”

“I believe so, and we’re bringing it online now.”
