Chapter 26
by
Manbear
Do you accept this unilateral descision from your spymaster, or do you use your charms to show her how wrong she is?
Honor her wishes - for now
"Lexie," you try to coax her using the nickname you gave her when she was half her current age and haven't used in years.
"No, Bruce." you see some of the fire you've become accustomed to in her green eyes, "Please, just forget this ever happened, OK?" There was no way you were ever going to forget the feeling of Alexia's pulsing sheath wrapped around your cock, but you know your spymaster well enough to let the matter drop for now. With a silent nod you pull on the tunic you were wearing last night during your ill-fated flight and leave her to get dressed in peace.
Not far from your tent you see the towering figure of Galeon, pacing impatiently. The lines on his brow lessen noticeably as he sees you walking easily, apparently no worse for last night's adventures.
"Sire, are you well?" His sharp eyes look over your figure for any signs of weakness, and you reassure him quickly without any reference to your latest adventures with Alexia. Galeon had always treated Alexia like his own baby girl, and you weren't sure how he'd take the news that you had just robbed her of her maidenhood. To be fair, she had been pretty willing, and you had fully intended to do the right thing before she got all weird on you, but who knows how this bear of a man might take the news. Instead you turn your attention to your upcoming day.
"Let me get changed into something a little more formal, and you can get me caught up on what I've missed." He gives you a curious glance but decides not to ask questions. "OK, Sire, the United Armies have set up three large tents representing Polares, Apollopol, and Heliopolis with the smaller city-states appear to be hanging around the three main powers likely sticking to their traditional allies." You were right, Majesty, they are not as united as they try to appear to be.
"The champions and envoys from Athenapolis have set up tents as well," he hesitates and scowls before adding a detail you had not thought about. "A good number of them have slavegirls with them, Sire, as you can imagine, this has some of our people pretty upset."
"Has there been any problems?"
"No, not anything serious just bragging about who's athletes are going to win, but the envoys from Athenapolis have been meeting with all three factions of the Alliance separately, I imagine offering gifts and trying to sway key opinions." He points to a group of elder statesmen standing around two or three much younger women standing outside your camp. "As a matter of fact, there is a group of representatives from the city waiting to see you as well, your Majesty."
"Thanks for the update," you sigh, wondering if you have the strength to deal with the envoys from the besieged city, another thought occurs to you. "Also, have you seen Barticus around, I need to talk to him?"
"He's probably at the stables, Sire." Galeon seems almost relieved that you do not want to meet with the representatives of Athenapolis. "He should be there for the next hour before he prepares the for the horse race." You leave Galeon and go see if Barticus told anyone about what he seen.
Do you find your oath-brother, and has the gossip already started?
