Chapter 11 by [KingDucky] [KingDucky]

What's next?

His Mentor

Uld Village, Lee's Lodge, Modern Day

Aetri felt Crow stir in his arms, Her eyes cracked open as she let out a weak kind of croak. Although he was happy that she was alive, Aetri remained frozen in place as his Mentor's Emerald eyes pierced him "Are you just going to stand there and look terrified all day?" Lee asked, looking expectantly at him as Aetri gulped, Lee grunted

sighing and brushing her black hair out of her face, Lee gestured to Kara who also froze at Lee's glare "help me up, Cave-girl." She said, wobbling slightly as she stabbed the end of her blade in the floorboards, trying to pull herself up to her feet, though the mead was making a mess of things.

Kara nodded fearfully, rushing over to Lee to help pull the tall dark woman to her feet.

Aetri had known Lee for years, She was his teacher, his Mentor, but He didn't remember a time where He wasn't cautious of her hardness, or her enthusiasm for drowning herself in Ale. But despite having known this woman for nearly a decade, He had noticed her ageing... or lack thereof it, after all these years with the Eastern Farmer and at times healer, she had never once shown a single wrinkle, she simply remained as she was; Terrifyingly Beautiful.

His Mentor was an Easterling, high of features with serpentine eyes like Black-Crow's.

Her lips were full and ruby red like Crow's also, though Her eyes were of an almost shining jade colour and Her hair was long and thick as polished black Iron wire that fell as a mane on her strong shoulders.

Lee's face was longer and harder than Crow's also, though she did have a strange way of softening it when she smiled, which was a rare thing reserved for only the specialist occasions.

She couldn't have been older than 30, but she retained a girlish and almost lady-like visage upon her hard features, which were in the many.

This woman was nothing less than a Husband's bane, Nearly 6 feet high, with a toned and lean frame... Heavy DD breasts that she always let breath in her Tank top and a full bubble butt that dwarfed Black-Crow's petite form, Aetri had always thought her stature was strange for a Healer until she had had him work on the Oxen, Trees and Crops that she also cultivated to keep herself busy.

But beneath even all of that, Lee was nothing less than a juggernaut, He had seen her fight, seen her utterly break multiple men thrice her width and strength, though she avoided such things when she could, in fact, she almost never left her Lodge, mostly because of her discomfort in social interactions and of course... she despised the cold, something crowned in the long midnight wool scarf that she kept coiled around her shoulders at all times.

"Feed that fire, Cave-Girl, it's bloody freezing in here!" She growled to Kara, who immediately rushed over to the open fireplace to feed it logs.

Lee shivered "these Winter's get colder every year." She muttered as She grabbed the scabbard from the mantlepiece lazily, struggling to stand up straight as she pushed the long eastern blade into its sheath.

Aetri watched as she took a long swig from her heavy tankard, thumping her chest as she let out a rumbling burp "Bloody hell... right, take her into the Healing Room, Boy." She commanded as Aetri paused... wasn't she angry? He thought she'd be. "Stop just standing there and Move, Moron" Okay, yep, she was angry.

Aetri nodded "Yes, Mentor." moving through the Kitchen to the double doors into her Healing hut, the smell of incense and herbs gracing his nostrils as He quickly placed Black-Crow on the soft Healer's table.

Lee stumbled to the table, setting her bottle and sword aside as she grabbed her kit "When are you gonna stop, pushing yourself eh?" Lee whispered, touching Crow's face with a hint of worry on her own "Damn fool."

"She's gonna pull through right? I mean, she has before." Aetri moved towards Crow, brushing her dark hair out of her face as she stared up at the ceiling blankly

"The Idiot has been neglecting to take her Rest again... Her body needs time to heal the damage it's doing to itself. Therapy for the muscles, herbs for the internal damage..." Lee burped again, wobbling so thoroughly that Aetri had to grab her so that she wouldn't fall "ugh, too much to drink, oh well, not like I can make her any worse." She said, shrugging and going for her supplies.

Aetri nodded, his eyes flickering between Crow and Lee as he began to back away slowly towards the door "Great... so it seems that You have control of the situation, I'm just gonna... go for a drink then, Good luck-"

Aetri gasped as He saw the dark hair woman whip towards him, Her drunkenness suddenly vanished as she swept in, clasping her fingers around his ear as she glared at him "Oh no you don't!" She growled, Aetri squirming as she held him there

"Ow ow ow ow!" He moaned as she frowned at him

"DO YOU THINK I'M STUPID, BOY?" She cried "That cave-girl told me everything about Crow's little secret mission, running around the Skjal and thieving like a rat in the dark, foolish boy!" Aetri cowered as she let his ear go, raising her hand threateningly as He whimpered

"I-I'm sorry, Mentor, I-I just wanted to get back at the Skjal... for Kara... for the Uld, Crow thought it would be a good test of my skills..." He said, chuckling nervously as Lee stared daggers at him for a minute.

She sighed, lowering her hand and rubbing her eyes "Stand up straight, stop cowering it ruins your posture."

Aetri immediately stood straight, nodding and smiling nervously "Y-Yes, Mentor, sorry, Mentor."

Lee placed her hands on her hips, He saw her anger melting away as she took a deep breath... before finally, pulling him into a tight hug "Brainless child... You could have gotten yourself killed, what was I supposed to do if I found you hanging from a tree..." She growled as she hugged him tighter.

Aetri smiled, she smelt like a brewery, but he rubbed her back comfortingly "I'm sorry, Mentor, forgive me."

Lee let him go, and pinched his face, He was much taller than her now, it was a little odd, She used to seem so towering and invincible to him when He was a child, but she had softened so much since then and she was like a mother to him, just like Crow was.

"You're strong, Boy, but not invincible, and You cannot fight if you're dead. No more secrets, understood?" She commanded.

Aetri nodded, bowing to his Teacher "Understood, Mentor."

"Good." Lee cleared her throat, punching him playfully in the chest... though it still winded him a little "Now sit down, we still have shit to talk about." Lee pushed him into a chair before resuming her place with Crow

"But, Mentor... I have... things to do!" He said

Lee snorted shaking her head

"Like what? go to the tavern with your little outcast friend, no, You're going to stay and tell me all about Your little mission at Skjal."

He sighed but did as she bid, preparing to tell the tale of his adventure in trying to steal the Skjal's prized drinking horn.
