Hilda goes home

Hilda is about to walk into the inn when a thought occurs to her.

I need to get the paperwork sorted out for the keep's new owner, and go inform the servants they have a new boss!

She quickly turns around and starts heading for home. She gets to the edge of the village when a familiar-looking old woman driving a rickety wagon calls out to her.

"Oh my, hello," she calls, trying to suppress her smile as she looks at the disgraced woman she cursed earlier today. "I almost didn't recognize you."

Hilda excitedly pads up to the old witch, her bare, expertly manicured feet smooshing in the filthy mud with each step. "Hello again," Hilda smiles. "I'm glad you were able to get your wagon fixed."

"It was quite a... disarming experience," the hag says, chuckling at her own dumb pun.

"I bet," Hilda says, disinterestedly playing along. "Could I trouble you for a ride? I need to get back to Brandt Keep as quick as I can. There's still so much work to do!"

The hag smiled, eager to see the younger woman's misfortunes play out in person. "I could... for a price..." the hag says, laughing maniacally.

Hilda just dumbly agrees, the curse only being partly responsible for her naïve answer. "Sure! What do you want?"

"Oh, I'll tell you when the time is right..."

"That's fine," Hilda declares as she awkwardly climbs up and sits her naked self down next to the hag. "Let's go!"
