Here we go

As you strode into his office he quickly looked up and smiled at you as you entered his office.

”Ahh Mr. Blackthorn good morning are you ready for today’s tests?”

You nodded today was the day you got to show your stuff and show this school that even though your family was bad you were going to change that.

“Alright then Mr. Blackthorn have a seat and we shall begin the tests”

With that, you took a seat across his desk as the headmaster pulled out a small bottle filled with a grey gelatin-like substance inside of the bottle. Before he placed it in front of you on his desk.

“Now Mr. Blackthorn I want you to concentrate and simply release some your magical essence into the bottle through your thumb and index finger alright?”

You nodded and focused on the substance in front of you as the headmaster watched with intent with a clipboard on his desk. You closed your eyes channeling magical essence through your hands like he said before you felt nothing in your hands. Opening your eyes once again you found that the gelatin-like substance was gone from the bottle.

The headmaster simply nodded before writing something on his clipboard and then removing the bottle and placing a stainless steel knife in front of you no bigger than four inches along with a drawing of a symbol you had never seen before and a simple wooden wand.

“Now Mr. Blackthorn I want you to take the wand and channeling magic through it like before carve the symbol you see on this parchment as accurately as you can on this blade alright?”

With a nod, you quickly did as you were instructed and began to carve the strange symbol into the blade with the wand and after a few minutes set down the wand. The headmaster then looked over the blade before writing down something else on his clipboard and then setting the blade aside the headmaster placed a large covered cage by the looks of it onto his desk.

“I want you to reach inside this cage with your hand and channeling magic into your hand like before to pull out a familiar of any kind Mr. Blackthorn”

You quietly nodded before hesitantly reaching into the covered cage. Closing your eyes you searched and searched before you felt something soft in your hand and slowly and gently pulled it out opening your hand revealing a baby crow sound asleep. The headmaster wrote furiously onto his clipboard before setting it down and uncovered the cage to reveal a simple birdcage complete with water and food taking the sleeping baby crow in your hand, he gently placed the crow inside before covering the cage once more.

Finally, the headmaster drew a deck of cards and then shuffled them twice three times even a fourth time before simply smiling.

“Mr. Blackthorn I know you have many questions and are probably tired with me by now but I want you to pick a card at random and then show it to me alright?”

Sighing you decided to humor the old man one last time before gently picking a card and drawing it from the deck. Turning over the card you were silent as realized what card you had drawn it had the Grim Reaper on the card’s image standing menacingly scythe and all. Finally, you handed the headmaster your card causing him to frown upon closer inspection as to which card you drew before like the other tests he set it aside and wrote some more onto his clipboard.

“Mr. Blackthorn I thank you for your patience in this matter and I am sure you are curious as to what classes you will be taking this year and as to what area of magic you will study but I am afraid you will have to wait until tomorrow before I have your results, for now, the rest of the day is yours to do as you please I should have your results first thing tomorrow morning”

With those words, you were quickly guided out by the headmaster out of his office before his door was promptly shut behind you. Sighing you made your way back to your dorm tired and bored beyond your mind today was going to be a waste just like yesterday and just like yesterday, you have no say in the matter.

The rest of the day was a blur as you entertained yourself before eating a quiet dinner all alone in your dorm and then heading off to bed early to be awake for tomorrow's results.
