Her First Encounter with a Villian

It was 11:00 PM in Landmark City and I was crouched on a building overlooking a warehouse. About a week ago, I thwarted an attempted robbery of a convenience store. The four men in question went down pretty easily but one of them proved to be a bit tougher. During the struggle, he told me that I was out of my league and that if I kept this up, the Queen was going to have to have a few words with me. His rant gave me the opening I needed to deal a knockout blow, something I wish I hadn’t done because I was curious as to who this Queen was.

In the nights that followed, I made sure to operate within that same area in an effort to gather information while also doing some digging on the net in my spare time. Based on what the thugs I didn’t knock out knew (something that I still struggled with, god being a superhero is hard) and some news stories I found online, I learned that the Queen is a big time gangster in Landmark City. Though I couldn’t find a name, apparently she got the nickname Queen because she rules over every criminal in Landmark City. Sounds like a Kingpin wannabe if you ask me.

Anyway, I finally managed to catch one of her men without knocking him out and he told me that The Queen likes to make the rounds of her operation in person and that tonight, she would be visiting a warehouse by the docks. According to him, it’s where they take all the stolen goods to either be shipped off to fences or cleaned for resale. He also mentioned that it’s where The Queen herself likes to dispose of “Unwanted garbage” the laugh that went with that statement admittedly creeped me out. I’m pretty sure a Superheroine falls into the category of “Unwanted Garbage” so it’s probably not the best place for me to be snooping around. Regardless, The Queen’s men keep causing trouble so it looks like Amethyst will be facing her first supervillain tonight.

But not a whole lot has been happening at this warehouse. I have been sitting on this rooftop for an hour and haven’t seen a thing. Sometimes fighting crime is really boring. I started to think that I had been played for a fool when suddenly, a limousine pulled up. After honking it’s horn a few times, the doors slide open and the vehicle rolled inside. A limousine seemed out of place in this part of the city so I decided now would be a good time to go in for a closer look. Question was, how to get inside. For whatever reason, the doors didn’t close so I could just slip in that way but I feared I may have been spotted too easily. On the side of the building, there there was a door that was hanging open but there were dock workers nearby that worried me. They could be guards in disguise. There was also an open skylight on to roof. Choices, choices, choices choices.
