Chapter 107 by Actiaeon Actiaeon

What's next?

Help plant in hydroponics

Following Haruka you enter the hydroponics bay; she has got most of the plants already growing in the beds. You walk by various food crops; most are in different stages of germinating.

Haruka points, "I just have a couple more seeds to plant you mind helping me?"

"Yeah, no problem," you grab the seeds.

She shows you how to plant, and then maintain the existing crops; you try to listen. However, you lose focus, the task is too hard for you; and your one arm. For the most part, you let Haruka do most of the work; merely keeping her company. Something you've grown used to over the past couple days.

"THUMP" you hear from the left, starting you out of your conversation.

"Wha... was that?" Haruka asks.

"I don't know," you say, looking around.

Looking over you notice that one of the plant beds has fallen over, the water flowing onto the floor.

"No," Haruka runs around the hydroponic bed you were working towards the now leaking bed.

"Haruka wait!" you yell, running after her.

She stops dead in her tracks; her eyes widen; they are full of fear.

"Sore we--" she screams, but is cut off falling onto the wet floor.

You finally turn the corner and see a hairless giant rat/kangaroo-like creature about the size of a small dog. You see it grab with its forelimbs a little black and gold box off the floor; it looks like it came from a pocket in Haruka's dress. Picking it up, it begins to jump like a rabbit towards a hole, that has formed in the opaque shell of the dome.

"NO!" she yells, "Aaron, please," she begs.

Without hesitation, you run after the creature, nearly slipping on the wet floor. In your mistake, the beast has almost made it halfway to the hole.

You grab some shears and throw it at the creature, you manage to land a hit on the beast opening a deep wound in its backside, yet unfortunately, it still manages to escape with whatever was in the box.

"Aaron, we have to get that box," Haruka says, tears welling in her eyes.

"Why what is in it?" you ask, helping the now soaked woman off the floor.

"It was the seed from my mother's garden," she says, crying.

Do you chase it for the box?
