Heading out

Gavin sent me the shopping list about half an hour after leaving the house, probably when he got to work. I headed back to the room...

Our room, I mentally added, looking around. The two person bed, meant for both of us to sleep in, to- I killed that thought there. Didn't need it poisoning my mind when I was still reeling from that kiss earlier. I searched through the clothes and found a pair of yoga pants, starting to pull them out. I hesitated when they were half-way. They weren't a great option, really. I could remember how all the guys at school would steal glances at girls' asses when they wore those things. I didn't want to invite that kind of attention.

Plus, if I was leaving the house there was the chance I could run into Mrs. Warren. Would she punish me if she saw me wearing pants? Would she infuse more triggers to limit things I could say or do?

Growling, I dropped the pants and walked over to the closet. I grabbed a light blue sundress and pulled it out, then quickly got changed. I hated it, but if both options were bad and this one had the chance of keeping me out of being messed with? I could deal with it. I added some black flats to complete the outfit, then headed downstairs.

I found the purse I had been given and checked it. Sure enough, there were keys to the house in there. Not seeing much of an option, I dropped my phone inside and grabbed the thing, then stepped outside. I made sure the door was locked and started across the lawn. I looked around. I had no idea where the store even was, but I had all day to figure it out. If I could just-

"Hey there!" A chipper, feminine voice called out to me. I squinted and looked across the street to see the woman of the couple we had seen there last night.

"Hi," I muttered, taking a few steps closer to her. She was moving more quickly to meet me. "Uhh, Lisa, was it?"

"Good memory!" she said, smiling. "Unless you and Gavin spent the night talking about us, that is."

"No, we didn't..."

"I bet not," Lisa said, winking. I could feel my face heat up. "Oh, just a joke of course. What's your name."

"Uhh, Lucy."

"Nice to meet you," Lisa said, pulling me in for a hug. I was surprised, especially by the way our chests pressed together. "You know, we've all been wondering what kind of girl Gavin was going to end up with. He's always been such a good guy, even back in high school."

"You went to high school with him?"

Oh, yeah. Me and Ryan both did. Didn't hang out all that often but we knew each other. Why, want the scoop about what he was like?"

Why had I asked that? It didn't seem too strange that people would go to high school together in this town, did it? "Uhh, maybe some other time. I need to go to the store and pick some things up and... figure out where the store is."

"He's already got you running errands for him? That **** driver!" Lisa said. I opened my mouth, but she giggled and waved her hand. "I'm joking. Just a joke. I was actually heading to the supermarket myself. Want a ride? You can learn where it is and have an easier time getting the stuff back here."

I bit my lip, looking back at the house and then to her. With a sigh, I nodded. "Yeah, actually, that'd be great."

"Fantastic! Let's go." She led me over to her minivan and I climbed inside, all too aware of my breasts as I buckled up.
