Chapter 13

So, what will it be then...?
He wants to see the next match
"I'd rather watch the next match." Jack eventually decided, as he figured it was well about time for the girls to go to bed anyways. Not that he had a lot to say about their sleeping habits now that they were all pretty much adults already, but for as long as they lived under his roof he could at least try and push them in the right direction.
"Oh,well..." Catherine rolled her eyes at him, while her youngest sister gave him a brilliant smile from her spot on the floor. What Jennifer thought of his decision wasn't quite so obvious, but it seemed like neither she or Kate was about to leave right away. Quite likely they were simply too lazy to get out of their seats, while on the other hand they'd both only showed some vague interest in sports before.
In Jennifer's case he figured that she was probably able to relate to it in some way, with all those team games she liked to play online, while in Catherine's he wouldn't be surprised if she stayed to watch all those male athletes on screen. Either way he didn't really mind them staying, even if he tried to discretely remind them of fact they had school or work to go to the next morning.
Why Kimberly wanted to stay was obvious from the beginning though, and she was already writhing in excitement while the game was just getting started. Even Jack didn't know how she could be so devoted, but then again he'd never been such a huge fan of the home teams himself. Which made his daughter's enthusiasm even stranger, considering that he'd never taken her to one of the live matches.
That didn't mean he couldn't enjoy a good game though, and just like Kim he followed the players closely while they all got started. Meanwhile there was a few interviews going on in one corner of the screen, where a young female reporter was talking to some of the players, and for some reason he found his attention drawn to them even more than to the game itself.
He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but somehow the girl reminded him of someone else. Perhaps it was just the short haircut and the way she smiled which made him think of Kim, or even of Shirley, despite of her hair being a lustrous brown instead of their natural blonde. All this meant that she was cute and attractive as well, which the male players and audience around her seemed just as well aware of.
While trying to keep up with the game and the young reporter at once, it just happened that Jack's attention was further divided as he glanced down to see how his daughter continued writhing around while following the action. At some point she'd raised her feet in the air and pushed them back to her bottom, like she usually did when lying flat on her front, and as a result of this, combined with her squirming, the hem of her long jersey had moved up far on her slender legs.
While this wasn't much of a problem itself, it soon became all too obvious that the girl wasn't wearing her usual kind of shorts today, but had apparently prepared for bed already by using the sweater as a nightgown, with nothing but a surprisingly daring pair of knickers underneath.
For a second, Jack was about to say something about this inappropriate choice of clothes, but just in time he came to realize how it would spoil the fun she was having if he suddenly started rebuking her for some minor reason like that. Well, he could've just told her to cover up a bit instead, but for some reason he decided against that too. Perhaps he just knew that it'd come out wrong either way he said it, and at the same time he figured that it didn't really matter, as long as it was just in front of her own family.
It was still damn distracting though, and Jack wasn't all that proud of the images passing through his head while his eyes continued being distracted away from the game by one or more of several reasons...
What should he do then?

Girls of Jack
One man's world has been turned upside down, but he may find hope in the most unexpected places.
A story which I hope to work on when I have the time for it. For now it's closed for others, but I'll gladly accept ideas and suggestions for how to improve or continue the story! I've now started adding conditions, which is how I planned it from the start. So far it's recommended to read without activating the play function, but please try it out if you want, and let me know if you find something odd about the scoring.
