He goes for a kiss

Matt was a virgin but that didn't mean he'd never kissed any girls. He'd spent a number of Friday nights wrestling in the back seat of cars trying to grope girls' tits and making out with them.

If Debbie liked him enough to pick him up, she might like him enough to let him cope a feel. So, he went for it.

Which turned out to be a mistake.

"What the hell are you doing?" she demanded after she'd shoved him away.

"Uh, just wanted to thank you for picking me up." ('Nice recovery, Matt,' he told himself.) It was getting hot out there and..."

"That was not a thank you kiss that was... gross."

"Sorry. I guess I'm more touchy-feely than you're used to."

"Yeah, well, get over it."

He grabbed his books and got out of the car. He couldn't help wonder if Debbie might have been more receptive if he'd told her he lived in the big house in front rather than the shabby apartment in back.

"See you at school," he said. "Thanks again for the ride."
