Was Ruby still affected?
Gullible Ruby
“Ruby?” You asked after you were both fully dressed.
“Yeah, Jaune?” She asked.
“You know after showers with a guy, you’re supposed to offer your panties to the guy if they want them.” You tell her. If she wasn’t gullible, she would say no of course and then you would pretend you were just teasing in the locker room. Worse come to worse, you write on her again.
“Oh my god!” Ruby gasped. “I’m soooo sorry. I didn’t know about that rule. Do you want them? I’ll take them off right now. Please don’t be mad. I’m so stupid for taking your stuff all the time!”
“No, no!” You waved your hands indicating her to calm down. “I was just mentioning it. I don’t need them.”
“Phew, I thought for a moment I did something really bad.” Ruby muttered.
This was weird.
When you took your name off from owning someone or something, the second your name was removed or cross off, people saw it as normal. Yet when you owned Ruby’s gullibility and told her she would believe anything you tell her, it’s still there even after it was washed off. Why was that the case? Did you actually change her Gullibility permanently? Would it change naturally over time? Was it just the mental traits that this worked with?
This would require some experimentation.
Though, you also had to help Weiss and Ruby work out their differences, reward Pyrrha, AND you had to talk to Blake. She had something important to tell you. There was a lot to do on your face day of school. You exited the locker room, still in thought while you split up with Ruby. Not paying attention to what you were doing, you turned a corner and slammed right into someone.
“Watch it!”
You were brought back to the present and saw you bumped into Cardin, who was standing in the middle of the hallway, playing on his Scroll.
“Sorry.” You muttered, not wanting to start something. “I wasn’t paying attention.” Secretly, you thought it was his fault for blocking the hall.
“Oh, it’s you.” Cardin spat out, blocking your way. “I bet you think you’re all that.”
“Er… what?” You were confused.
“Owning the girls’ locker room so you can change with them and having powerful weapons at your disposal,” Cardin told you, jabbing his finger in his chest. “If you had weapons like the rest of us, you would have been crushed.”
“But I don’t,” You replied. “I have my own way of fighting… and it worked!” You probably shouldn’t have antagonized him, as everything he said was entirely true.
“Don’t get a big head, Arc!” Cardin warned. “You’ll regret it. Try using a normal weapon like that sword of yours.”
“Maybe I will.” You replied annoyed.
Cardin marched off and you waited until he was definitely out of earshot.
“What the hell is his problem?” You muttered.
It was probably a macho thing or his pride getting hurt by how easily Weiss beat him. You couldn’t argue with him, as you knew he was a lot stronger than you. Those blows with his mace literally sent you flying if you didn’t throw your entire body into blocking them. It actually hurt your pride a little knowing you were weak. The Ownership ability you had didn’t make you stronger. It just gave you the ability to protect yourself using others. You made a promise to yourself to get stronger for real.
After you took care of your other priorities.
What do you take care of first?
