Just then, the speed of both your thoughts and actions surprise even yourself. You decide that you simply must leave. You rush over to the desk, and grab the case. You then open it, grab the keyring, and toss the case back onto the desk.

"That's it!" you tell Dr. Balkin. "I'll keep my briefs, you keep your briefcase, and I won't make a federal case out of this!"

Then, you rush over to the door. Before you place the key in the hole, the irony hits you comparing this to what your future would have surely included if you had followed the teacher's "lesson plan". Unfortunately, Hilary takes this time to respond.

"Fine!" she says. "I guess you'll just leave before everyone else arrives!"

You stop, and turn to give her a questioning look.

"I thought you said I was the only one taking this class!" you remind her.

"I said you were the only student!" she corrects you. "But orientation, and coping with stress and anxiety brought on by college is something that can easily affect you in many situations," she adds. "Therefore, several of my fellow teachers signed-on to be a part of the specialized faculty."

She then stops, looking up at a clock on the wall.

"Yes," she says. "They should be here soon."
