Chapter 17 by brevdravis brevdravis

Before bed.

Goofy Movie night

Robin stepped out of his younger daughter's room, and the door closed rapidly behind him. Sometimes he felt like he was losing her, but there was only so much anybody could do. Once a kid hits eighteen, all you can really do is either kick them out or put up with it. As long as she was still in school, Robin had decided that he was going to put up with it. However, pretty soon the phase or the living arrangement was going to have to change. He was hoping for the former.

He walked down the hall, stopping at the small shelf that held the few films he kept. Tonight... he needed something to improve his mood. Miranda and Titania were both in their own worlds, fed, and apparently done with school. Parental responsibilities done. His eyes lit on one of his favorite old films, and he figured why the hell not. He felt like a goofy movie, so why not watch the actual Goofy Movie.

It was when he burst into the first rendition of "... My old man drives like such a klutz, that I'm about to hurl my guts..." that he heard the laugh from the back room. Miranda had already started chuckling at "Do you NEEEED a break from modern Livin'..."

"You are NOT actually singing again, dad..." Titania shouted through the back door.

"What's that? I can't hear through a door!" Robin shouted back, before continuing with "... Upooooon the Open ROOOOOAD!"

"Dad... stop, really," Titania's door flew open and the teen stomped out, her face in a broad grin. "Really, you're killing it."

"I thought you LIKED my Goofy," Robin smirked, "Huyuck..."

"Ugh... Daaaaaaaaaaaad...." Both young women groaned in response.

"Heh, Well, maybe I should just go to bed," Robin Laughed. "I didn't... I didn't sleep too well last night." His mind flitted to that gorgeous girl Vee next door. That show she had unwittingly given him. Well, at least that would be the end of it. She knew now, and things would settle down. Besides, he was going to be spending the night at Lauren's the next evening, so might be a good idea to catch up on rest.

"Are we on our own for dinner tomorrow?" Miranda asked, her eyes flicking over her shoulder towards the kitchen.

"You have to learn to cook eventually," Robin pointed out. "I left you a frozen Lasagna, just follow the instructions. Should be enough for both of you, even with your hollow legs." That had been true. Grocery bills for two teenagers had been hideous enough, but Robin had scrimped what he could during lean times, and had learned to make even food bank food taste good. No mean feat that.

She wrote back???
