Going on vacation

“I know that we just moved in about three days ago,” Cassandra said, reaching into her pocket, “but I couldn’t keep this a surprise anymore. Ta-Da!” Cassandra pulled out two plane tickets. “We’re going to be spending two glorious months in Honolulu! And we leave first thing tomorrow morning!”

“Get out!” Rachel said, grabbing one of the tickets with a massive grin on her face.

Lauren, on the other hand, looked confused. “How can all three of us go if there’s only two tickets?” she asked.

“Lauren, didn’t you know?” Cassandra asked, grinning ear to ear. “Infants fly for free.”

Lauren thought about this for a few seconds, but when it finally clicked, she turned completely red as she gasped in horror. They wanted her to dress and act like a baby for the ten-hour flight to Honolulu?! And then stay like that for the two-month duration of their trip?!

“Or, you could just stay here.” Rachel added, smirking smugly. “Of course, if you do choose to stay here, we’re going to have to call someone over to housesit; which means that, by extension of our agreement, they’ll have to come over to babysit as well.”

“What’s it going to be, Lauren?” Cassandra asked. “Are you going to come along with us, and just act like a baby until we land and get to our hotel room? Or are you going to stay here and act like one for a complete stranger for two months?”

Lauren hated both options. If she chose to go with them, she would have to act like an infant on their way to the airport, at the airport, during the ten-hour flight, and on their way to the hotel; and that wasn’t counting anytime they left the hotel! Lauren didn’t think that she could handle all that! And one thing was for sure, she definitely wasn’t going to have any fun on this vacation if she had to act like an infant the entire time.

But if she chose to stay here, Lauren would have to be in diapers for the entire two months! In front of a complete stranger, no less! And there was a really good chance that the babysitter would be some teenager who was several years younger than her!

Lauren weighed the two options, but in the end, she chose what she hoped was the lesser of two evils.
