"Follow me, we're going to Professor Oak." you say and Lacy skips along behind you the few minutes it takes to get back to town. Nobody seems to notice the two of you together.
You walk into the lab and Oak is there working at a station in the back with some other scientists. You wave and he turns to look your way. "Max!" he squints "And Lacy! How are you on this fine day?"
"We're ok I guess." you start "I actually came to show you that I figured out those broken pokéballs you gave me." You dig in your bag and pull out Lacy's empty pokéball.
"Oh, and what did you catch with it?" he takes it and examines it closely.
"Well, Lacy."
"Lacy what? Did she catch something? This ball doesn't have its pokémon inside." He presses the button and it flashes to recapture Lacy. Oak drops the ball with a look of shock and his eyes go wide as he processes the pile of clothes. "Oh my word. Do you know what this means?"
"Well, it means that she's basically a pokémon now. She fights, obeys commands, and even levels up." you say as you pick up the pokéball.
"Yes...but...here, release her again." you press the release and she reappears naked. Unfazed by her nudity, he asks "Lacy, would you like to go with Max wherever he goes or do you want to go back to your life at home?"
Lacy gives him a vacant expression like she isn't sure why she's being asked. "I don't know. Max, what should I choose?"
