Go monster hunting solo

After some thought I strike out on my own. Doing this is obviously more risky but the rewards are clearly greater as I would not have to share the spoils with anyone. Anyway, I am confident enough in my abilities that I can do such a thing on my own.

My night vision adjusts as I move through the forest. I can see very well in the dark just as most cambions can, which also means that in full daylight I will usually be too dazzled to see clearly, but at night there are few better hunters. In a clearing up ahead I see a clump of about a dozen or so slimes. While I have no doubt that I could probably kill one, two, or even three by myself, I would probably not be able to last very long against a dozen attacking me all at once. I decide that it's best to be cautious, and watch and wait.

Some of the slimes move along. They seem to be moving almost aimlessly but I have heard that they possess some rudimentary intelligence. A single slime remains behind: it has apparently found something edible on the ground nearby and is not following the others as they slink off into the forest. This looks like a good chance! I get my weapon ready.
