One of them snaps, the others do not.
Go in there.
It was an average sized corridor with tiny moderately bright ceiling lights illuminating the way. The snaps were quickening slower than Jen anticipated, but with the next thing she saw, it all started to make sense. In a tiny recess, there was a light blue vertical ladder mounted into it..
"The key is below me." — she realized. As she grabbed it with her hands and started climbing down, it became apparent that the ladder was made of hard plastic. This peculiar material choice was, too, explained right away.
The door in front of Jen was similar to those on the ships, but polymer-made as well. The sign on top said "FIELDS CHAMBER", and the smaller sign in the middle added "METAL WARNING".
"Some elaboration would be great." — the girl frowned. — "I don't know what the hazard is. But it feels like I'm not welcome. BUT it's not like I have a choice, they put my key inside! What a mean way of introducing me to a new room."
Jen spun the wheel and went inside. This room was very small and must have been an intermediate before the actual chamber, as there was another door, an automatic one, and some kind of control panel on the wall. The panel had a console and many buttons, though only two of them were lit up. One button had a magnet logo projected onto it, the other — a stop sign.
'It is recommended to close the outer door of the buffer room to reduce risks of molecular field leakage.' — the text below the panel said. Jen did not pretend to understand what a molecular field was. Instead, she knew things in here were always easier to close than to open, so that outer door remained ajar.
The console was saying: 'Input 1 required.', clearly expecting one of the buttons to be pushed.
Which one?
