Getting to know mom

"You know, mo-Ellen, how about we skip the movie?" Barry asked.

"That's fine, you're in charge tonight," his mother said.

Barry turned the car around and headed for a place he had heard about simply called "The Club". Although he had never been there, the place had a reputation. Wild crowds. Loud music. Cold beer. And occassionally someone got drunk and started flashing people.

"We might have to kill a little time before they open," he said.

Looking at her in that dress....he couldn't wait to get her on the dance floor and feel her body pressed against him. He honestly had no idea if his mother could dance, or would enjoy the idea of dancing. That really wasn't a topic that came up in normal mother-son conversation.

Sadly, that also made him realize he didn't know anything about her before she was mom. He knew she changed his diapers, hauled him to school functions and had always been his biggest cheerleader, but who she was before all of that was a mystery.

"So, Ellen, tell me a little bit about yourself," he said. He quickly did the math in his head. She was 20 when he was born. His brother was just one year older than him, meaning she had been 19 then. So she was 18 the last time she had been single and childless, which was twenty three years ago. "Its 1996 and you are unmarried, childless and 18 years old. What is going on in your world?"

"You really want to know?" she asked, sounding surprised.

"I wouldn't have asked you out if I didn't want to get to know you," he said.

"I just graduated high school and I am single, maybe for the first time since I was in second grade," she said with a laugh.

"First time since second grade? Really?"

"I always liked boys, and they always liked me," she said. "I don't mean that as bragging, its just the truth. And you said you wanted to know."

"I do," he said. "I want to know everything. You may know me better than anyone alive, but I don't really know anything about you."

"Fair enough," she agreed. "Ask away."

"How old were you the first time you had sex?"

This time she looked shocked.

"Barry!"

"I'm not sure when we can get to our second date, so I wanna get all the big questions out first."

"Fine, I was twelve."

"Details please."

She stared at him for a moment, arms crossed.

"Fine, just because I agree that we don't know when we can go out again," she said. "His name was Alan. He was my next door neighbor, who was fifteen. Thats a big age difference for that age, but we had grown up together. Our parents were best friends. When we were little they even bathed us together, probably a little past the point where it was appropriate. I think our parents hoped we would get married one day, so they kinda pushed us towards each other."

"Did the two of you date?"

"No, we did mess around a few times, but the age difference was too big," she said.

"So that first time, how did it happen?"

"We had a clubhouse we used to hangout in and play," she said. "One day I walked in and caught him looking at a Hustler, a semi hardcore porn magazine he had gotten from one of his friends. He was embarrassed and tried to hide it, but I really wanted to know what it was. So I made him show it to me. I never got the talk from my mom and dad, I learned all about sex from Alan and Hustler magazine."

It was odd but exciting to hear his mother talking like this.

"We were kids, so I am not going into details. Lets just say he got excited looking at a porno with a girl. I had never seen a naked boy, at least not since we were little, and asked him if he really looked like the men in the magazine. I got him to show me, and of course then i had to show him and well...you know where thay went."

"Okay, no more kiddie questions," he said.
