"So...the summer of 1996," he said. "What was going on? You hadn't met dad yet. Were you single? Have a boyfriend?"

"I guess you would say I was single," she said, but he saw the color rise in her cheeks.

"What does that mean?"

"I don't know that you wanna hear about that summer," she said. "I was not in the best place. I was a little wild. Nobody needs to hear about their mom's sex life."

"You arent me mom, you're Ellen," he said. "How wild? I want to know everything about the girl I'm dating."

She looked at him, looking both embarrassed and excited. It was a sexy look on her.

"I was very wild," she said at last. "A few weeks before graduation i broke up with the boy I was dating and I was going off to college in the fall, so I had very low inhibitions. I got around a bit, if you know what I mean...but mostly it was Danny Wilson's kegger."

"How many guys?"

"Guys? I have no idea how many guys I was with that summer."

"Guys?" he asked. "You mean there were girls?"

"I was hoping you wouldn't notice that," she said, embarassed. "Yes, I had sex with three girls that summer."

"Don't be embarrassed, you are a very beautiful woman. I can see why men or women would like to be with you."
