Chapter 4 by Arthor Thomarius Arthor Thomarius

The world is a hyperdimensional ring world. From anywhere on the ground during a clear day a person can see The Arch rising into the sky in the eastern and western horizons. Hanging suspended in the sky is The Spiral. The educated understand that both are illusions created by the structure of their world as it winds through higher dimensional spaces.

Most of the world band is covered in a vast body of fresh water which is broken up by landmasses that range in size from small islands to continents several times larger than the land area of most planets.

In addition to the stationary land masses, there dwell giant island turtles that roam the seas, home to thousands, even millions of people. This is to say nothing of the cities of pelagimen, merfolk, nerids, and sea nymphs who call the bottom of the vast oceans their home.
