Chapter 6 by zediekiel zediekiel

So, what is Brimstone's plan for entering Titan's Tower?

Gather information

The Titans had not been idle since the defeat of the Brotherhood of Evil. If anything, their ranks now swelled obscenely with juvenile heroes from across the globe.

While Titans Tower remained a steadfast symbol of their organization, it was far from their only headquarters. Officially it was now the headquarters of Titans West though it was still mostly thought of as the original tower. It was still manned by the original team as well: Robin, Starfire, Beastboy, Raven and Cyborg.

Following the security debacle that was the Brotherhood's near complete sweep of the young heroes, the Tower's security systems had been honed to a razor's edge.

The sky was awash with exotic energy detection systems. Likely reclaimed from any number of crashed alien ships. With those systems active, anything from the most primitive of aircraft to the most exotic alien transport would be detected within a solar distance away from earth. The sole saving grace was that those very systems cast out a wide range of easily detectable fields themselves. Needlessly attractive to extraterrestrials of course, but that was the point. Better that they should come here first than anywhere else.

Then there were the lower entrances. Both through the sea-caves and the network of tunnels which extended beneath the bay into the city proper were deceptively well defended. Radar, motion sensing units and ultra-light sensitive camera's lined the lot. While unimpressive to most standards, their sheer number and lack of consistent system connectivity meant that whether one tried to evade or disable them would trigger the alarms one way or another.

In a particularly daring recon mission you found that as you approached the island proper your skin grew warm and taught. One of the small smattering of minor abilities you'd picked up from Trigon; a sense that triggered in the presence of strong magic. Clearly Raven had expanded her spell repertoire to include wards as well. While you could potentially break through them if you entered your enraged form, this would put you at a tactical disadvantage and certainly alert them to your presence. You briefly wondered that since you had so much of Trigon's DNA if that technically made Raven your sister...you decided to reflect on that later.

From what you could gather from a few hapless C-list villains who'd been unfortunate enough to actually make it inside, the Tower's active defenses were plentiful. The same training equipment the Titans used could be repurposed at any time to form barricades, attack drones and obstacles of both lethal and non-varieties depending on the level or **** of the threat. The Titans themselves having trained against them could easily surpass the technology if it was turned against them, but interlopers without the experience or skill would be stopped or at least slowed down enough for the Titans proper to respond.

Lastly, if the original Titans were ever faced with a threat beyond their means to handle, they could access their global communications network. A closed circuit point-to-point hub only accessible to confirmed Titan's members via their communicators. Previous villains who sought to obtain one now found the devices literally exploding in their faces if they tried to access them. Followed by a distress beacon set with the unfortunate Titan's last known location. While the Titans hadn't installed the security black-hole that was a teleportation system, the response times of other teams was not something to sniff at.

It seemed that a direct **** would trigger immediate detection followed by a massive retaliatory response from the Tower, the Titans and the Honorary Titans. While you might have been able to weather it and emerge victorious, the odds of success was not total and you were nothing if not meticulous.

There were however two notable flaws in their system. The first was expected. Membership was still offered openly to all young heroes who upheld the Titan's ethical standards and were adept at vigilantism. You had thought they would have been more guarded after the debacle that was Terra, yet still they clung to the irrationality of everyone having the potential to be a hero if given the chance. While it might damage your reputation for your short-term criminal aspirations, if you made your debut as a hero you could infiltrate them easily enough. Perhaps take down critical infrastructure once they let you into Titans Tower.

Then there was the...other option. A glaring weakness which ran counter to every instance of training you had ever received. Every fiber of your being screamed that it had to be a trap. How could hero's renowned the world over at such a young age...allow a pizza deliveryman through the front door.

Without fail once, or perhaps even twice a week the Titans would place a call to "The Pizza Place" for delivery. One of the under-bay tunnel entrances was less than a block away from the establishment and the delivery people were allowed in and out unmolested. You'd confirmed the entire malfeasance through footage collected from one of the delivery boys dash cams. Even when the delivery person was unfamiliar or recently hired, they were always let in without question. A simple visual confirmation of the uniform was all it took and they'd be let right on in.

It seemed that you were spoiled for choice if you wished to **** the Titans. Now...how should you play this?

How do you get inside Titans tower?
